    • Hello Dr. Blau,

      A couple of q's.

How does the recovery period for lipo differ for gynocemastia surgery. We're talking back and waist lipo. Your lipo fee says that it is for the first area. In this context would it mean luv handles? Or do you charge for one side, and then extra for the other side. Also, I have heard a lot about laser lipo. What do you think about this concept and are there any applications for gynocemastia? Thanks!

Recovery from liposuction varies for different individuals, usually 4-7 days. Depends on the extent and other variants. You should be examined and discuss it with your surgeon .Abdomen and waist are two areas. I think that the most important factors are the patient himself and the experience of the physician , not the instrument it is done with.

So just to be clear, both luv handles would fall under the fee for "waist lipo"?. The reason why I am asking is because I was wondering if it would be possible for my wife and I to have procedures done on or about the same day if we both stayed locally at a hotel. Or would we need to stagger it so that we could take turns caring for each other. Thanks for your time.

Yes,both are considered by me as one area.
Both of you can have surgery in the same day.You can stay in the office ambulatory center for a few hours and we will arrange transportation to the hotel . For more details you can call Maryann.

              • PLEASE read this Dr. Blau

Hi Dr.Blau, I have had gynecomastia now for at least 8-9 years, I am currently 22 years old. It has greatly affected my life, made me shy, a loner, un-social, and over all sad and self-conscious. I have thought about surgery many times but 4 one reason or another did not get it done. I have HYPOTHYROIDISM and that might have been the cause of my gynecomastia, I also have low testosterone levels, that might have contributed aswell.
I REQUEST YOU to please look at my pictures BELOW and infact make it 100% clear for me if I have true GYNECOMASTIA! And if surgery is the CURE! :-i
(I am 5.7 and 140 pounds and never been overweight)

                    • Dr. Blau,

I had gyno surgery done 4 months ago and the results are good other than I still have the annoying post op inner scars. What's the maximum amount of time you've seen the inner scars go away on their own? On your site is says a few months. Does it take longer for the scars to go away in some patients? I just got my first steroid injections 2 weeks ago and it seems like it helped a little so far but it's going to be a very slow process. Is it still possible this far after surgery that my body is still producing excess scar tissue and has yet to begin breaking it back down? I've been a little paranoid over this issue because I feel like it's hiding the final result of the surgery. Thanks

                        • Permanent gyno removal

I'm looking to have the surgery to remove my gyno, this might be a stupid question but I thought that by doing the surgery you have NO chance of getting gyno again. Basically I thought the surgery removed the whole gland...

My question is, what are the chances of getting gyno again after having the surgery, it would suck to pay 6000 and then a year later do it all over again. I'm planning to continue to use "supplements" so I assume that this will increase my chances of getting gyno again?

Dr Blau, is massaging useful to get rid of internal scar tissue? I'm 1 month post-op, have large scar tissue on both the sides and i can't see much difference from pre-op. i know i have to wait till 6 months but is massaging worth it?

                            • Dr. Blau is it possible that the plastic surgeon could accidently remove muscle when lipo suctioning? Also how long before you can see the real results? I have really hard tissue and my left side chest is still really numb-it's been 7 weeks post-op. I will put up pics soon-I had gyno surgery from Dr. Steven Lynch Albany,Ny. any info on his skill level? How much would it cost if I needed to come in and get revision surgery from you? Also what would be the time frame for waiting?

                              Thanks,

                              • My left side of my chest is very numb and swollen up. My right is not so much. Also I have a clear fishing line like stitch still left in my right nipple. Will it dissolve on it's own?
