    Tagament (Cimetidine) is a prescription medication which is used in treating certain types of intestinal, and stomach ulcers as well as related medical conditions. Such diseases include: active benign stomach ulcer, upper intestinal ulcer, erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zallinger-Ellison syndrome. Tagament is also prescribed for maintenance therapy of duodenal ulcer after an active ulcer has healed. Tagament is called a histamine blocker. In some cases, a doctor may prescribe Tagament to treat acne and prevent stress-related ulcers. It also may be used in treating herpes virus, overactivity of the parathyroid gland, hives, and abnormal hair growth in women. Such diseases like duodenal ulcer require short-term treatment to complete the healing, but recurrence may occur. Side effects such as: depression, agitation, anxiety, disorientation, confusion, and hallucinations may occur, while using Tagament for 1 or more months. These reactions disappear within 3-4 days after the discontinued use of this drug. Some individuals may have blood disorders, anemia, dizziness, hair loss, allergic reactions, liver disorders, muscle pain, irregular heartbeat, sleepiness, inability to urinate, impotence, joint pain, and diarrhea. The most common side effect of Tagament is headache, and breast development in men. If you have any of these symptoms, contact your doctor, who will determine if Tagament is safe for you. Do not use this drug if you ever had allergic reactions to it in the past. You should remember that ulcers in smokers may be more difficult to heal. Notify your doctor if you have been treated for kidney or liver disorders before using Tagament. If this medication is used with Glucotrol, Nizoral, Aspirin, Procardia, Procan, Cordarone, Tonacard, Valium, Librium, Inderal, Lopressor, Digoxin, Demerol, Paxil, and others, the effects of either may be decreased, increased or altered. Check with your doctor before combining Tagament with other drugs. If you are pregnant or expect to get pregnant, contact your doctor. Tagament appears in breast milk and may affect your nursing baby. The dose of this medication depends on your medical condition. You should use Tagament tablets exactly as prescribed and take this medication with or in between meals. Do not exceed the amount of caffeine, while using Tagament. In case of overdose, side effects such as fast heartbeat, respiratory failure, symptoms of unresponsiveness may occur. You should notify your doctor immediately if you suspect any of these symptoms. Keep Tagament away from children, and store in a tightly closed container, away from heat, light, and moisture.
