My best pull was 655. I've missed 675 on a few occasions. Here are some vids:

Trying to work my way baxk up a bit. I pulled 495 yesterday for a fairly easy single.

675lbs with straps....could only get 600lbs without straps.

As for jstarr - take some time and really work your posterior chain, that's your lower back, hamstrings, calves & glutes. LikeDabear said, do good mornings, rack pulls, other types of deads like sumo, Romanian as well as squats - all types - and particularly in YOUR case I think deads off a block or 2 45's would help you out. The key benefit of pulling off blocks is it lengthens the distance you have to pull. This increase in the time under tension will get you ready for maximal loads that take a long time to grind out. Another benefit is to teach you to explode off the ground, even with your body in a more biomechanically inefficient position. This is extremely important for sumo deadlifters, whose sticking point is usually at the floor or within the first couple inches of the movement.

I LOVE box squats - I do them once a month with a set of 20 rep deep breathing squats. I do the 20 rep DBS first followed by the box squats to failure - what a killer. People forget how much the legs come into play in the first portion of the deadlift....try this.....don't deadlift for a few weeks and then do them....see what's sore the next day: thighs, hams, glutes, maybe lower back....most likely your whole back LOL and those are the bodyparts you need to work then for a bigger deadlift.

Chains and bands work great too as well as doing max effort days (low reps) and then speed days (lighter weight/higher reps for explosive speed).
