                Thanks mate, I used to hate deads but really like them now, only just started using a texas power bar so should be doing more soon as the 594 was with a standard bar. I did 594 at a comp last month with a power bar and it felt loads better , should of gone higher but thought 594 was my limit.

                • Yeah a good DL bar is needed to pull max loads... The bend you get is crazy, at 705 iv got like 4+" of bend.

                  • Wow, that's nuts. There's virtually no give at all in the bars I train with, even when people are pulling 5PPS they don't flex.

                    I guess it makes the lift a little easier at the meet though, haha.

                        I would rather train with a super stiff bar so the meets are easier. I pulled 600 at a meet up in VT a few years ago and that bar didn't flex at all! Always wanted to get one of those.

                            I'm the same, makes sense to me.

                            Same reason that I don't like to train with chalk ~ just gives me another advantage when the meet comes around.

                            • Id take my Texas dead lift bar any day. The resent and most effective dead lift technique are based on a bar that flexes. For example you cant pre load a bar that doesn't flex
