  • Hackintosh - i5-2500k

Id like to see of anyone else here has built one and what their experience was, this will be my first hackintosh. Total Cost: $1288.86 a far cry from $3,974.00 for a MAC pro from Apple.

no games at all actually (on computer, im a console player). Light video editing and for the hell of it. I always wanted a mac but i didnt want a mediocre one and i didnt want to pay fucktons for a good one. This is my solution

Oh, an i want to run a linux based apache webserver off it so, instead of using red had linux, i decided to go with a mac to accomplish my video editing interest as well.

Good choice on getting a solid state drive. Those things
loads an OS in like a couple of seconds.
Ah shucks BK is fine wit me. I'm low maintenance" Beni Mama

Congrats, so I'm guessing the Hackintosh is working and no problems.

Hell yes, the kernel extensions were beyond frustrating...as well as patching the os to work with the sandy bridge processor but if you are in the market for a high performance Mac and can stand frustration for a few nights...by all means build one. Way way cheaper than a Mac pro! This cost me around 1k

The real issue was the video card.
