This isn't as bad as everyone made it seem. There will still be 20+ Olympia competitors qualified barring some extreme circumstances were some people qualify but keep competing and kicking ass at every show.

Damn I bet a bunch of guys are gonna race to compete as much as they can in what's left of 2011 then.

Noel took it a little to extreme. This will make for the people at the Olympia to be the BEST. However, they should cap off the other bullshit divisions anyway.

At least things are cleared up now. Only the top four guys are qualified for next year. I have been asked that so many times.

I'm just wondering if this is really bad for smaller shows like the Europas, Toronto, Phoenix, etc?

For guys like Alvisi, Liberatore, Abiad, Pakman, etc. -- these guys can expect to finish top 3, but would they want to compete knowing 100% they have to get 1st?

Ha Ha can't wait to see how this will play out. Because at the end of the day, these guys are pros and they compete for money, so I think it is conceivable that Rockell, Freeman, Hide, Nunn and Troy, just to use them as an example, will compete at more than one or two shows per year, taking away qualifying spots from other pros. I think we'll have in the best scenario, 12 to 14 competitors at the O, if that many. Not sure one can call that the most competitive show in pro bodybuilding??!

Oh yes, and why don't top six qualify for the next year as it's always been. In other words Wolf and Dex are just not good enough to re-qualify? Ill conceived if you ask me!!

Well if the guys compete and win any of the shows left this year, they can still take a lengthy off season to focus on the Olympia for next year if that's their plan. Still not a terrible change.

There seems to be pros and cons but I think this will discourage alot of athletes from competing at all anymore to be honest. Branch is going to have to win a show before he comes back for next years olympia, interesting??? They have been doing alot of stuff the last few years to generate revenue some good most bad.

Overall I feel bad for guys like Eugene who in all honesty saw his last Olympia. I hope someone like Vic or Kai do d6 smaller shows and win them all to show Manion how flawed this thought process is

It'll make it more competitive and more prestigious....they don't need more than 15 competitors at the o anyway
Like all true bodybuilders I get my supplements from the manufacturer instead of a marketing company I get my supplements at www.truenutrition.com

This is exactly what I'm saying. I just posted about the Sheru Classic and how it's shaping up to be just as good as the Olympia.
