Default Which way do you load 45's on the bar ?

Always found it odd that everyone loads the print side of the weight toward the bar and the plain side away from the bar. I've always done it that way as well. Any real reason for it?

I only use 100 lb plates, so I can't give a fair answer to your question.

Although, it sounds very similar to the pretentious folks that swing the kettlebells with the kilo engraving facing forwards so other people can be impressed by the amount of kilos they can swing.

The plates at my gym are the same on both sides.

But if they weren't I would load it the opposite of this.

I heard if you put the print side facing inward it gives you more strength...

No but seriously, if the print isn't facing out it drives me fucking nuts. It's supposed to sit against the bar flat on flat. I know print side has said flat side also, but it's not the same.

There is a reason for putting the plates on a barbell with the print facing towards the middle that could hypothetically help with lifting the weight, but I'm more interested to see if someone comes up with it.

Better gripping when removing plates if they're facing inwards.

These kind of threads...seriously. Just ask something with a little more depth in it

Next time it'll be "what color is the ceiling in your gym?" or something.

I don't care what way they are facing, but when I put an additional plate on I slam it into the next one so everyone around me knows I'm going up in weight.
