First Official Stills From CURSE OF CHUCKY

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Curse of Chucky hits Blu-ray and DVD later this fall.

FX CEO John Landgraf Says Guillermo del Toro's THE STRAIN Will Be "Between 39 And 65 Episodes"

The Strain is a 2009 vampire horror novel which was written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. This was followed by The Fall and The Night Eternal. While it was originally envisioned as a television series, del Toro's inability to find a buyer led him to adapting it into this trilogy of novels and later a Dark Horse graphic novel. Well, work is now finally moving ahead on a small screen adaptation, with the Pacific Rim helmer set to direct the first episode. Talking at the TCA press tour this week, FX CEO John Landgraf was asked how graphic the show will be. "It’s pretty graphic. It’s a horror show. I think you can expect content commensurate with The Walking Dead or American Horror Story." As for how the network is planning on adapting the trilogy, he make it clear that they have a very clear plan in mind and have already set out a specific number of episodes in order to faithfully adapt the story and NOT drag it out unnecessarily. "It’s a trilogy, and the trilogy ends the story. It’s a truly epic story. And when Guillermo [del Toro] came in to sell it, one of the things they made clear is that they wanted to tell the story of the books. That story would be told over three, four or five seasons. They have work to do, in terms of figuring out how they are going to resituate that story, in an episodic television series, but it will be somewhere between 39 and 65 episodes. No less and no more, and I’m really excited about that." Del Toro has so far assembled an impressive cast which includes Corey Stoll, John Hurt, Kevin Durand, Mía Maestro, Sean Astin, Robert Maillet and Doug Jones. It's believed that the first season has already been picked up for a 13-episode run.

Spooky Tunes: A Murderous Jake Gyllenhaal in The Shoes’ ‘Time to Dance’

Despite the popularity of The Shoes’ upbeat and appropriately named 2012 track “Time to Dance”, the accompanying beautiful and macabre music video has a surprisingly low number of views, even with Jake Gyllenhaal as its leading man. And while half a million views is nothing to sneeze at, the creepy short film deserves to have a lot more eyeballs on it.

Clocking in at almost 10:00, the short illustrates a grisly killing spree through the eyes of a detached-looking Gyllenhaal. And though 10:00 is like two hours in YouTube Time, the video manages to stay captivatingly creepy throughout. We see him take bloody revenge on his hip-looking victims at various parties, then methodically grooming and planning his next attack. Throughout the video, Gyllenhaal keeps a quiet insanity in his eyes that is almost creepier than the murder scenes themselves.

The song itself is an interesting foil to the horror movie like scenes of the short. The French synth-pop duo had been gaining speed remixing already established pop artists, but their album Crack My Bones is their first venture into the spotlight. ”Time to Dance” is a rewarding jam with meandering beats reminiscent of LCD Soundsystem.

Sample the entire Crack My Bones album at the band’s Last FM site, and make sure you let me know what you think of the album and what other creepy music videos you like on Twitter!

“American Horror Story” will continue to scare FX viewers, as the net announced today that it has ordered a fourth installment of the franchise from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

The next miniseries in the “AHS” franchise has yet to be named, but will be comprised of 13 hours of scary programming and debut in 2014. 20th Century Fox TV will produce the fourth run of the series.

“Put simply, Ryan Murphy is a master television producer,” said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Prods. “Time and time again he reinvents the form. What he, co-creator Brad Falchuk and their producers Dante Di Loreto, Tim Minear, Jennifer Salt, James Wong, Brad Buecker, Jessica Sharzer, Douglas Petrie, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Alexis Martin Woodall and the entire production team and cast responsible for the American Horror Story franchise have done is nothing short of extraordinary. Every year, they create a riveting and brilliant new miniseries. AHS: Coven is the best yet, and I have no doubt that the next installment will be even better.”

The third season of “AHS” — “Coven” — has topped its predecessors, 2011′s “Murder House” and 2012′s “Asylum,” handily in ratings. Witch-centric “AHS: Coven” currently averages 7.74 million viewers on Wednesday nights, and the October premiere of “Coven” was the highest-rated episode of the entire “AHS” franchise, with 5.5 million viewers in its premiere timeslot, 7.8 million with an encore telecast taken into account.

Nine episodes of “AHS: Coven” remain, and the finale for this season is scheduled for Jan. 29.
