    I completely agree, but it didn't look to me as if there was any deficit. He's standing on a platform yes, but the bar is resting on two pins so it look like a deadlift with the bar round lower shin level which isn't really a deficit dead.

    It's one or the other. If you "completely agree" that "and any deadlift where you increase the range of motion is a deficit deadlift" then there's no "isn't really" in the equation.

    It is or it isn't.

    In this case, there clearly is a deficit as the bar is resting lower than it would have had the weight been pulled from a flat floor.

    End of discussion.

    if you look close, there's definitely a deficit there.

    Really strong, but you really need to keep your head up (or at least forward).

    Have you ever worked on dropping your hips a little lower to try to recruit more leg drive? Just a suggestion, good lifting though.
