If it's in the Olympics then yes of course, it should definately be tested.

No, I dont think Powerlifting should be an Olympic sport. It isnt technical enough, and I doubt it would ever get in line with WADA or USADA. When the random offseason drug testing start the lifts won't be that great. Olympic weight lifting is technical and more entertaining. Just my opinion. Check this video of 2012 Shot Put Bronze medalist Reese Hoffa in the gym. He pretty damn strong...

Involves quite a lot more than just 3 things IMO.

If PL and Strongman became Olympic sports, performances would be considerably worse than they are today (drug testing). And, I doubt that the public would accept equipped powerlifting.

wouldn't it be cool though...picture it..your at the Olympics with Grandma and a bunch of couch potato family.. all the sudden this bastard comes out chalked up and starts sniffing the fuck out of his ammonia capsule 1, 2, 3 times.. and yelling and growling .....yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh......lol.....I think this would touch audiences worldwide in a deeply meaningful empathetic sort of way

There are some pretty fucking boss, drug tested powerlifters...

Check out USAPL record holder Mike Tuchscherer.

    ---

And anyone still with the "it's not technical enough" point of view...Is more technique put into rowing or sprinting? I don't think so especially how technique conscious elite level lifters are...I think it's on par with those sports.

People prefer to watch sports that involve a lot of fast paced movement. PLing is the sport with the least amount of movement. No one would want to watch that shit.

Sailing doesn't have a lot of fast movements. PL should be an Olympic Sport. Why the hell is equestrian even considered a sport? By the same virtue nascar racing should be an olympic sport or formula 1 racing.

It already is an Olympic Sport - you just need to be in a wheelchair to compete. the mens 75kg division just finished at the paralympics with the winner benching 225kg's. Heavier divisions about to start 4th september. No faggot bench shirts here, just big straps to fasten the lifters to the bench.
