Vince Gilligan’s BATTLE CREEK Finds Its Lead
When last we heard, the upcoming Vince Gilligan created/David Shore run CBS drama, Battle Creek, had found its director in the form of X-Men: Days of Future Past’s Bryan Singer. The choice made sense as Singer had previously directed the pilot of Shore’s last hit series, House. But today’s new on who will lead the drama comes will a much less sense of explanation, and a more heightened sense of curiosity.
According to Deadline, Transformers star Josh Duhamel will play FBI agent Milton Chamberlain opposite Dean Winters as Detective Russ Agnew. The series will follow the two as they work to clean-up “the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek” despite having different world views. “Duhamel’s Milton is a clean-cut FBI agent; a sincere, humble, even naive guy who heads from Detroit to Battle Creek to set up a satellite FBI office.”
So there you have it, and actually, it’s not that bad. Say what you will about Transformers, but when it comes to TV, Duhamel can bring the goods. He was by far the most entertaining part of his last series regular role, Danny McCoy on Las Vegas. There should be no doubt that Duhamel is capable of pulling this off, and with Dean Winters and Kal Penn by his side, the one screen talent on this direct-to-series drama is shaping up to be just as good as the off-screen group.

Watch the First English Dub Clip of ATTACK ON TITAN
Strap on your 3D maneuver gear and prepare for the sweet strains of Linked Horizon’s “Guren no Yumiya”, because the first English-language dub clip of Attack on Titan is here at long last. While many diehard anime fans, myself included, have already seen episodes of the massively popular apocalyptic anime series, it hasn’t actually received an official US release yet. Until now, that is. This weekend at Anime Boston (March 21-23), FUNimation will premiere the dub during their panel and, just in case you weren’t in enough suspense, they will be keeping the identity of who will voice series protagonist Eren Jaeger a secret until then. In the meantime, they’ve offered up this first clip of the English dub to give you a taste of the colossal madness you’ll be in for.
Here’s the official synopsis:
When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother.
He vows to kill every Titan walking the earth.
Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there’s more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity’s last hope against extinction. From the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead comes the series Anime News Network calls “an intense, visceral, and graphic thrill ride.” The Titans have come to feast. Anything can happen. No one is safe.
And in case you’re already super onboard, FUNimation is selling a collector’s edition Blu-ray and DVD exclusively in its online shop. The special set is scheduled to ship on June 3, 2014

Jack Unleashes Hell In An All New Trailer For 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY
Yesterday, Fox took us behind-the-scenes of their highly anticipated limited-series event, 24: Live Another Day. That, along with all the various TV spots that have dropped recently, has turned the return of Jack Bauer into a global event as big as the next Spider-Man film, and today the network has released a full, 2 minute trailer of awesomeness for viewers:
Yup, yup, yup, that’s it right there. That’s the Bauer we want. Intense, driven, man of principle, I don’t think people realized how much they missed the world’s top counter-terrorist agent. The line where Jack is told he is now the thing he’s sworn to protect the world against, a terrorist, it just gives you chills and should make for one hell of a ride.
24: Live Another Day premieres May 5th on FOX.

Ed Skrein Is The New Transporter
He'll succeed The Stath as Frank Martin
Well, this update couldn’t have arrived much more quickly if Frank Martin had been delivering it himself… Hot on the (w)heels of yesterday’s confirmation that the Transporter franchise will indeed be going to reboot route for its new entries, Variety reports that Ill Manors’ Ed Skrein is the man to follow The Stath as the tough-nut central character.
Skrein, who also appeared in Game Of Thrones as Daario Naharis (though he’s been replaced for Season 4 by Michael Huisman) will play a younger version of Frank Martin. The new movie will serve as an origin story for the man, which includes his interactions with his father. The producers, which include Luc Besson, are apparently looking for someone notable to take that role.
“We searched everywhere to find a fresh face who had the potential to become an action movie star and we’ve found the right match with Ed Skrein, who’s not only a great actor but also has enough charisma and physical stamina to play Frank Martin with brio,” EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert tells the trade mag.
Bill Collage and Adam Cooper are behind the script for this one, with Transporter 3 editor (and Brick Mansions director) Camille Delamarre on to call the shots. He’ll start the cameras cranking this June on the French Rivera and may end up making all three of the planned new trilogy.

'Heavy' duty as SyFy airs 'Hurlant'...
Heavy Metal Magazine was at the forefront of fantasy fiction. Now the live-action series inspired by its short stories gets an American screening via SyFy...
Boyka, Black Dynamite, Twister, Roy Batty, Spike , Sallah and Kyle Reese (well the actors who played these legendary characters) star in the fantasy action series Metal Hurlant Chronicles. Based on the original Metal Hurlant French comic book anthology (best known to English speakers as Heavy Metal) this stylish anthology series has shot two series, the first of which has already shown in France but finally gets a North American - and hopefully UK release - shortly, making its debut on SyFy on April 14 2014.
In the tradition of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits, Metal Hurlant Chronicles adapts stories from the world renown magazine of the same name, created by writers and artists whose work has graced the pages of X-Men, Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Star Wars, Superman, Blade and many more. Each twenty-six minute episode follows one story be it action, heroic fantasy or science fiction or a combination of the three, shot in English and directed by Guillaume Lubrano.
The series features a number of faces familiar from the pages of Impact and many of our favourite cult and genre productions... including John Rhys-Davies, Michael Biehn, Scott Adkins, James Marsters, Michael Jai-White, Darren Shahlavi, Michelle Lee, Rutger Hauer, Kelly Brook and Celine Tran. Many of the episodes feature fight and stunt choreography by choreographer extrodinaire Larnell Stovall.
