    10g is good.

Well here's my last video blog before the meet, some slick production in this one...

so i tweaked my right lat pretty bad on the first squat. Not even sure if it's when I was squatting or when I unracked it, but it happened. I honestly thought my day was over after the first lift! I ended up doing another and skipping the 3rd squat. Benching felt OK. I was real nervous about pulling but decided to try it and see how warm ups felt. Actually felt fine while pulling, but walking, reaching for something, taking a deep breathe... was pretty bad. Went ahead with the deads.

    I ended up here:
    S - 518
    B - 369
    D - 628
Total 1505 New MA state record in the 220 "OPEN" class

I now have the 242 open record at 1560 AND the 220 open record at 1505.
I really wanted 1575 today but it certainly was not in the cards. So happy I got the record but a bit bummed in myself for not hitting that other 70 pounds.

Not sure exactly what I am doing from here but certainly taking a bit of a break!
I have all the vids but have to trim them down and put them together etc. NOT tonight though! I'm exhausted.

Good stuff man, rest up that lat. Happy for you man, I know how hard you work. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Congrats on the records as well !!

On Friday I hit a comfortable 400 DL and last night I just did 3 x sets with my bench opener of 220. Heavy(ish) squats on Sunday morning, was my second or third squat session this week so wasn't quite at full strength. The 231 was really solid and my last set was a comfortable 242.

Heading into a lighter week now before my final heavy week before the meet.

Thanks for the vid Joe, I now have something to watch on my morning break. Nice work as always, how's your lat now?

I'm midway through a relatively easy week as far as training goes. I trained chest and legs on Tuesday...

4 x sets paused dumbbell chest press: last set was 75 x 10
12 or so sets of bench including 3 x singles with my opener of 220
5 or 6 sets of parallel box squats: last set was 220 x 5
Finished off with ATG squats, 132 for 5x5 (45secs rest in between each set).

Having two days off, training again tomorrow morning.

Okay, I'm ready for my final heavy week. Monday is a rest day as I'm training at Eastside PL'ing gym on Tuesday - that's always a big night. Then towards the end of this week I'll have a session where I will hit maxes of the lifts as I would do in the meet. Once that's done I'll know exactly where I'm at.

Question, when are spring PL's held in the US?
Somebody told me back in October I should do a light/welter weight meet in the spring.
I am wondering if this is too late to adjust my training/diet/sign up or if I can wait until Jan?

    check powerliftingwatch.com
they have a great search engine if you type in what you are looking for. that said, also check the website of various federations. some fo the meets I do are NOT listed on powerliftingwatch.com.
just be aware of the types of meets you are looking at. some are raw, equipped, tested, untested, etc.

Thanks Joe. One day to go now, I'm feeling ready and can't wait to get there and see what I'm capable of.

Joints have been aching a little today as I rest up away from the gym, but that should be gone by tomorrow. I'm definately confident that I have a good chance of winning, but you never know who's going to turn up and lift some crazy poundages though.

My goals for the meet are...

** Equal or beat my 913lb total at a lighter bodyweight (looks like I'll be at least 3lb lighter than at last years Raw Champs)
    ** Win my class
    ** Finish top 5

    I GOT THIS !!

I've got some anger and motivation for this meet, just found out today that one of my good friends has been diagnosed with cancer and given a year to live. He starts chemo today, he's 4yrs older than me and was my cabinmate and gym partner when I worked on the QE2.

Will be dedicating the meet to both him and my mother, who's slowly recovering after a brain aneurysm and stroke.

    Sorry Jim.
Seems like we hear about this kind of stuff way too often lately.
    Is he married, kids?
Glad to hear your mom is recovering. What's the latest?

On a more positive note, I see you have been resting and catching up on some motivational youtube vids Keep at it bro! Head clear! Move weight!
