Yeah, that's a nasty piece of spyware software.
Have you tried using Spybot to eradicate it?

    Yup it eradicated it.

I also manually removed it too.
After updating spybot S&D, it removed the toolbar from IE 8.

The best way to get rid of filth is not spybot or anti virus programs like Norton. It is a few simple changes to your system.

#1. Never use internet exploer , use firefox, or google chrome..firefox is better.
#2. ask every time for cookies, you will be amazed how many sites will slam your system if you do not.
#3. adblock, get it now. A free addon from firefox.
#4. adblock pluss pop up addon 0.7 from firefox.
    #5. Ghostrey 2.9.5 from firefox
    #6. wot from firefox

Just a few changes that will not slow your system down and will make it much safer than norton or any of that ilk.

No noscript is also very good, but it can be a hassle.

I downloaded tdsskiller.exe to kill the svchost.exe virus that was slowing/speeding up my quad core cpu cycles to 100%.
Micro$oft is the problem, so many security flaws.
