Default The Phil Heath Advantage: Training in the high altitude of Denver

No Joke... Landed a job in Colorado Springs (6500+ above sea level) 4 weeks before a state level show I was preparing for in Pittsburgh, in the shape of my life at that moment, and when I got here and started training I felt like a noob.

There is a reason there is an Olympic training center and a plethora of sports organizations and world-class athletes live and train here.

Besides, the state's main agricultural product is BMC approved...

I'm interested to read this. I've often wondered just how much of an advantage, if any, is to be gleaned from hypertrophy-based training and show prepping in high altitudes.

I knew it ! It has nothing to do with genetics, hard work, supplements or juice! It is that dam altitude which has all the magic in the air to win the Mr. Olympia. We will see all Bodybuilders moving to Colorado now. Local, State and all National Shows will be held only in Colorado soon. God is in trouble, we found the holy grail of Bodybuilding. Mass Monsters will rule Colorado and later spread out all over the Country, small people will be dishonored, big altitude People will be in charge!

The only problem is, you lose all training adaptations from the altitude within days of leaving...

Training at high altitudes is great for cardiovascular/aerobic benefits. I'm not sure it's going to make your muscles full and round like Phil's. Phil Heath's biggest advantage was Mr. and Mrs. Heath.

Thank YOU , my fellow marine .
Altitude training is helpful in cardio fitness and endurance training.

In fact, it might be a very slight disadvanatge for building raw size and strength ( slightly less O2 % in the air )

Damn the synthol and other PED's . C'mon now, what would happen if they let every pro use drugs without restrictions or testing?!

"Leptin also stimulates a pathway called AMPK which increases glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation (fat burning) in skeletal muscle". Can someone explain me this reference. I know AMPK is a protein that's activated during training which degrades the potential for protein synthesis occur, how does it increase glucose and fat oxidation if this protein degrades the potential to increase building of muscle.
