I wish more kids can see this and use as a learning tool of what not to do.

That's a pretty judgmental statement being that you only know a small fragment of what went on during his 44 year life. Not saying the obvious did or did not play a part in contributing to his death but to say so matter of fact-like and still so open ended makes for an idiotic statement on your part.

    Tragic news.

44 yrs old is way too soon to die.

Add Greg to the long list of bodybuilders passing away due to Heart Failure-

    -Don Youngblood
    -Frank Hilebrandt
    -Art Atwood
    -Danielle Seccarecci

I'm sure there are others. Lesson here is to visit your doctor and have a Heart Check up.

I didn't know Greg well but he was always cordial and seemed to enjoy the sport and all that came with it.

    Rest in Peace.

I remember attending the '98 Olympia in New York. The line to meet Greg was wrapped around the corner....he was at the height of his popularity. Muscletech had turned him in to a mega-star......and Greg, to some degree, had helped put Muscletech on the map (it was a mutually beneficial relationship). I sat at a table with Greg at the VIP Banquet. When I congratulated him on his success, he looked at me and said, with a cocky smirk, "What can I say, Kovacs draws a crowd!" We all laughed.....but it was true. The fans simply couldn't get enough of him. -- To some degree, Greg was the first "Internet Villain". Before Titus and Kamali came around, Kovacs was a big target.....and I mean BIG! Fans would routinely attack him for his "not so pretty" proportions. He competed in 5 pro contests, and regardless of his placing, he was always the talk of the show. -- Sad to see him go so young.....7 words we say far too often around here.

Call me "Captain Obvious" but I am pretty sure all the gear he used over the years is the reason why he is 6 feet under at age 44. I hope the selfish man didn't have kids?

Just maybe "all the gear he used over the years" moulded a physique which enabled him to feed and support his kids. Two sides to every argument dickhead!

I remember the adds and the videos. He was a mega category 5 monster.

Rest in Peace and condolences to his loved ones!
    Dream big and work hard!
