to me what has been working is to push the rope down and BACK, to where the middle of the rope where the two ends meet touchs my lower abs. When we push just straight down we dont get as much tricep work in the "meat" of the muscle head...What I do is kinda like a tricep "kickback" but standing upright rather than bent over as with regular kickback...same with regulard pushdowns with a bar attachmnent. I extend down and back till the bar touches my lower abs

I'm a big advocate of using the rope as well, but scull crushers and incline dumbbell hammering also attack the triceps real good.
