one of the first mags I bought had coverage of this show. The LHW class used to be incredible, then in around 93 the HW class had so many great, great physiques in it, it was insane.

I don't want to sound like an old man but I don't see anything even close to the overall quality of either of those in todays top level national level show.

They hardly handed out any pro cards. To get a pro card then made you instantly a favourite for a good placing in the Olympia. Some great bodybuilders never even got a pro card.

well for the most part they actually seemed to care about proportion and not just being as gigantic as possible which was a trend that started in around 95ish.

the entire culture of BB changed around that time and not for the better IMHO

Shawn and Lee Haney are top 2 on my list.

As far as what happened? Size game took over for sure. Look at most of these guys and they are awesome physiques but line them up with current LHW guys and they get out massed. Not saying its a good thing but obviously the judges went in a different direction. Shit Ronnie isnt short by any means and he was a LHW!!

Do you seriously think that's Ronnie Coleman? Come on, that is Ron Coleman. Two totally different bodybuilders. Ronnie didn't compete until 1990!!
