Thanks for the insightful article Peter. Nothing but respect for Jay. A classy champion and positive role model.

Good article Peter. I've come to admire Jay more over the years.

I am a big fan of Jay, but there is nothing more to prove and he has a great life and is set for life financially. It would require a full year of doing what is necessary and how he should manage to fit that into the process of presently building up Cutler Nutrition is hard to see is impossible. That being said bodybuilding is not the same without him. He was the greatest of them all and has been fantastic for the sport. The present guys are nothing and conduct themselves as clowns, ref last Olympia.

I love Jay,but even at the masters, Dex would give him a run for his money. Dexter is still on top with no body parts torn and or lacking. Dex looked great at the Olympia, but still isn''t at his best all time. He can still beat Jay at this point though. I don't know if Jay ever got his other bicep fixed, but two torn biceps is not good for business.

Cutler is one of the last of the generation of hardcore bodybuilders that would do whatever it took to be on top. As we have seen and heard from current top-level BBers, they aren't willing to risk health for the #1 spot. I applaud that. But man, the 1990's and early 2000's were filthy good for fans of this sport.

Lol @ top level bbers not willing to risk their health for the number one spot. You're joking right ? Every single top bbers is risking their health by taking their bodies to such extremities.

I hope he returns... I miss his thick waist line... always looks so blocky and incredible.

Phil got too damn big, and too dominant, I think Jay never thought, in a million years, that a narrow framed bodybuilder could ever possibly dethroned him...well he thought wrong
