Meats with preservatives other than simple salt are probably terrible for vascular health. I have no references to back that up - it seems like common sense.

I've been making an effort to reduce preservatives in my daily food intake, so I don't buy cold cuts anymore. Also cutting out artificial sweeteners, colors, and other crap fillers. The result has been better general feelings of well-being and mental clarity. It's hard to do. You have to know exactly what to buy at the store and what to avoid. Eating raw and clean food, as well as plain water and coffee gets difficult after a while. But I feel like it's worthwhile for long-term health.
