They told me to mix iodine into my baby oil, and that would give me better color. Luckily I had a base tan so I only looked slightly reddish from that. Some other guys looked like lobsters with that mix!

And he already had a better chest than about 70% of IFBB Pro's today. . .

Actually his chest and chest line really helped his overall aesthetic. It's almost in line with his armpits. Injuring his pec later in his career really affected this. I'd never heard of gluten until Gaspari mentioned it.

What was his take on gluten George? I've never heard him mention it.

He was talking about eating gluten free a good 25 years before everyone else jumped on that bandwagon.

In the photos above it looks like he was missing the lower pectoral muscle tissue altogether.

I like going to restaurants and asking if their bread products and desserts are gluten free. Because, that will somehow help my weight loss. Lol

Nice article but winning the teen's and overall at 18 isn't really humble beginnings. Not being well built before lifting weights and eating for quality size at age 13 is just called being 13.

Gluten gives you ripped glutes. That's what 'gluten' means in Latin. Gaspari figured it out before everyone else, and thus bodybuilding became an ass contest.

Gaspari was the first East coast bodybuilder to make it big! I remember watching the Mr universe on TV when Rich won! Dudes like Mike Christian and Berry Demy competed in that show!

It was on one of the pre Olympia videos that he spoke about getting rid of gluten. He felt it removed an element of bloat from his midsection. He realised that v taper and small waist was something critics picked on him about.

On a similar theme, Flex Lewis got diagnosed with several allergic reactions to various carb up foods. Hence the dodgy stomach he felt and displayed at last year's Olympia. He promises that he has fixed this issue.
