Stiff legged deads up to 35kg for 12.

    Supersetted with

Wide stance cable squats up to 40kg for 16's.

Used a heck of lot of energy, I was like a dead fish in between sets.

Do you do any Incline work? I noticed my bench increased a lot after my incline got better. I'm actually stronger on incline now, than on other presses. Worth a shot

Strangely, I used to only do incline for years and only on this new chapter have gone to decline and overhead. Incline has taken a back seat to my OH, dips and decline, but I will try to get it in there still.

The strength issue is simply my stupid long arms and narrow rib cage. Barrel chested and short armed I'm not. My leverage sucks.

    Back 1

    1. Pullups until I could only get a 2

    2. Chins - Got a 9.5 where my previous best was 6. Really felt good like I was rowing the crossbar down to my body. Then two more sets of 7 and 5.

Got it. Flat used to be my go to but I had to lay off for a long while on Decline and Flat Presses. Incline was the only thing I could do for a good 2 years without pain, so I ended up getting way better at Incline. And long arms definitely don't help on presses. ha

I didn't read the whole thing (short on time at the moment) so forgive me if I am out of context:
I did NO benching for 2+ months while doing some strongman comps and working on my overhead. I can get 405 when I REALLY work at it (flat bench). After both my comps I want to try benching just for giggles and worked up to a SOLID 405 single! Shocked the hell out of me! The overhead stuff really helped out.
    4-6-13 100% RAW Powerlifting/ALL RAW Powerlifting
    Open 242 (weighed 235) 534.6/385.8/644.8 T = 1565.2

That's good to know, I love my standing OH press and if it helps my bench then great.

    Calves

    1. Seated raises. The bar sits on my knees with the angled ends upwards like wide motorbike handlebars which I grip. A chain goes down to my low pully and I 'pull wheelies' with each rep. Yeah lol.

    2. Standing raises. These I grind out like any other exercise trying to get a couple more reps at heavy weight. I don't go for the burn.

I'll probably go to 20 before I add weight. Might not be too long.

You lost some fat around the love handle area. Good consistent progress man. Also the OH press is probably the most underrated compound lift. Definitely more important than the bench.

Thanks man, got to be careful not to put it back on. Love the OH and the fact it helps core stability whereas the bench doesn't.

The bench probably suits your size and shape better than me. You're stocky yeah?

It's not what people like to hear but it's a much more technical lift. I wish they did this in the combine instead of the bench press.
