Default Arnold Classic 2017 Competitor List Announced

David Baye (or anybody else)-- do you know if that's a finalized list for men's open? Any chance of anybody else getting a last-minute invite?

Not sure if it's just me, but that absolutely looks like the weakest Arnold lineup I can recall ever seeing. Rhoden, Dallas and Cedric (and to a lesser degree Compton) will be battling. But literally only 1 athlete from the top 6 at the Olympia? Kinda' whack.

Someone also said that Compton isnt doing it. Where is Kai? If he isnt doing the Arnold he must be doing the O right?

I read on Facebook where someone said that Kai has never said he would actually compete (in any show) again. People are just assuming he is.

Lol, I'll grant your overall point. But at least the dude who won, was a former Mr. Olympia, and one of the greatest of all time.

Last I checked, nobody on this list has ever won a single major overall title. That's not intended as a slight against Dallas, Cedric, or the others competing. Cedric would come the closest, with his NY Pro win (arguably the 3rd biggest show of the season). Just surprising to see zero top-5 Olympians (other than Rhoden), or former Arnold winners, on the list.

I saw or read somewhere that Kai was going to retire. He's won every major show except the Mr. O and will never compete there again and feels he has no one left to beat or anything else to prove. I think I heard on last weeks Mutant Live broadcast actually.

Wow very weak lineup. Ramy/Josh/Kai/Dex/Roelly all should be doing this, why would anyone turn down that amount of money even if you're top 3 that's a great payday. I understand most of them competed a lot last year but $150,000 isn't chump change.

i agree, dex is a great competitior. its a matter of one great (who actually didnt look "dexter-Jackson-good" that day) vs bunch of noobs, or a Group of good pros and few up an commers who are a lot closer and will make the competition more interesting. i prefer this one because back when dex won everybody knew the whole time leading up he will win. this time ist a lot closer and an ON Cedric is right there physique wise with dexter, he gave Kai Trouble and won PJ last year. he just doesnt have the tophies.

thats Kind of why i think this line up will be better because its more exciting.

I go to this show every year and IMO this isn't the lineup I was looking forward to seeing and it will probably be the last year I attend .

It may be a "weak" line up but its still the Arnold! One of the BEST experiences you can have in bbing

Seriously have to ask-- what are you referring to as "Lazy"? Competitors choosing not to compete? The formulating of the actual invite list itself? (I can think of numerous other guys who could justifiably get a nod on that invite list, Nathan DeAsha being prime among them).

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts-- ideally in more than one word!
