If you have two full time incomes this makes for a much better quality of life than in NJ, NY, or MA. Property taxes alone would be more than halfed as well. I certainly agree with you that you can have a better quality of life here and that cost of living is better than pretty much the entire NE. I was moreso speaking on the recent upswing (last 3-5 years.) That being said, everyone has different things they are looking for but I wouldn't want to live in Stockbridge....traffic here is horrible and no way you're making it into the city in less than an hour

You would just rather have that because you are short.

Trucks are for work not for overcompensation. How are you going to talk down on people saying they waste money when you could get a civic for half the price of a truck to get from A to B.
I run an underground construction company that installs new gas pipelines, sewer and storm lines and some times buried electric lines. I spend most of my week out checking on crews working in fields, where 4x4 is a necessity. Honda Civic isn't going to cut it. Thanks for your input though dick bag.

About 25 minutes north up I75 of Monroe. These homes aren't far from Monroe, about 10 minutes north of that.

Derek, I always thought Michigan was super cold in the winters - aren't you about 4 blocks from Canada?

I think you guys are as cold, if not colder. I can actually get to the American/Canada bridge in 15 minutes, which puts me in Windsor.

You guys get waaaay more inches/feet of snow than we do. We're getting ready to start work in up state New York. We had to bid it as working 8 months out of the year there, due to how much snow they get during the winter. My crews work year round in Michigan.

No, it was reported because he didn't say all homo. Winter was pretty easy this year.

Pretty mild winter - only 2 storms that amounted to anything were about 15 inches, and then maybe 14. Three winters ago we set the all-time record since they started keeping records, 10 feet of snow.

Does the eastside of the state not get much lake effect snow? I grew up in the Lansing area, but went to GVSU and we would get hammered by the lake effect snow from being so close to Lake Michigan.

More up towards St Claire Shores does. Most lake effect snow is usually on the west side of the state.
