Default NEXT MD COVER: 300-LB DALLAS McCARVER!

    Beast Mode

Beast mode is a requirement for bodybuilding or to achieve any success with packing on serious muscle. Your training, nutrition and supplementation all have to be on point and zeroed in with laser focus to work toward the ultimate goal of unleashing your inner beast. Beast mode is a dangerous game. If you make the wrong move, you can lose. So be smart and careful when it comes to enhancement; more isn’t always better. This special “beast mode” issue of Muscular Development gives you all the tools and information necessary to ramp things up to beastly proportions. Heed the advice in this issue of MD and get your ass in gear.

Dallas McCarver burst on the scene in the summer of 2012 at the IFBB North American Championships in Pittsburgh, when the unknown 21-year-old became the youngest overall national champ in the history of our sport (a record that fell three years later, thanks to Cody Montgomery). At 242 pounds, he was a diamond in the rough. Dallas continued to grow more massive while he partnered up with his good friend and past prep-coach, Matt Jansen. At the 2016 Mr. Olympia, Dallas was 284 pounds and placed eighth. That same year, he won the Chicago Pro and was runner-up at this year’s Arnold Classic, finishing a very respectable second behind Cedric McMillan.

Does Dallas McCarver, who spent his early years doing chores on a farm in Tennessee, have what it takes to bring home bodybuilding’s biggest titles? Dallas is now working with Chad Nicholls, the same coach who guided Ronnie Coleman to eight consecutive Olympia victories. In “Dallas McCarver: 300-Pound Ripped Beast Unleashed!,” Dallas discusses his gradual rise to total beast-mode status.

This year’s New Zealand Pro and Arnold Classic Australia were learning experiences for Dallas. What will he do, moving forward? That’s for Dallas to decide. Will he continue to work with Chad Nicholls? Will Chad help Dallas get to the next level, and is Dallas McCarver the beastly shape of things to come?

Hell, yeah! Dallas is a beast! Look at what he has already accomplished at the age of 25! And he has youth on his side. Now Dallas has to make the right decisions. Dallas has great potential, and the work ethic and size to be a great champion.

Kai Greene is bodybuilding’s most enigmatic personality, a beast for the ages with a heart and soul that is deeper than the striations on his massive quads. In “Behind the Greene Curtain,” Peter McGough’s exclusive interview, Kai gives us his thoughts about competing in the Olympia, what he thinks of Phil Heath, his current forays into acting, his thoughts on Kevin Levrone’s comeback, his future plans, plus some surprising comments on prize money.

When you see a man with dense, thick slabs of muscle all the way from his sloping traps to his cobra lats and anaconda spinal erectors, it’s evident that he’s a hardcore beast. He commands your respect, because you know nobody gets a back like that without pulling a lot of heavy iron and pouring out maximum effort for years. Get all the information you need to craft a seriously impressive back in “Build a Beastly Back! Your Total 12-Week Program for Leviathan Lats.”

    Beauty and the Beast
is only a fairy tale … or could it become reality? The story comes to life in this month’s Major Distraction, as we salute superstars of bodybuilding and fitness who have reached legendary status through hard work, dedication and determination. As you turn the pages through this beast mode issue of MD, become inspired by these iconic couples to take your physical transformation to the outer limits.

Eating is undoubtedly the hardest part of bodybuilding, because when done properly, it’s a job. But doing that job and doing it well will make all the difference in your gains. You won’t become a beast by eating bagels and doughnuts, but if you follow the plan laid out in “Feed the Beast! Nutrition Strategies for Monster Mass,” you will be well on your way to being the biggest beast you can be.

Muscular Development is your number-one source for building muscle, and for the latest research and best science to enable you to train smart and effectively. Our team of physicians, industry experts and research scientists has these reports on improving performance this month:

Cry like a baby, make it on the cover of a magazine... sweet... enabling a crying child at the store by rewarding them with a treat.

Grats to Ron though, for sure.

Dallas has a great future IF he doesn't burn out first or have another meltdown. He needs some time off imo.

A white Toney Freeman would have 10 Olympias. If I could look like anyone I'd want to look like a prime Toney Freeman

I knew Dallas and Bostin had beef about a year or so ago, just didn't expect him to publicly come out and support Shawn like this.
