    Lightbulb Dread...

    I took a self-imposed rest day today.

I do this every once in a while when I realize I have gone weeks without a day off from the gym.

I think it had been three weeks since the last time I took a day off!

But my internal alarm still went off at 4:00, and I had to MAKE myself stay there.

Itís still hard to believe that I actually have to make myself take rest days.

I so vividly remember putting off, and putting off, and putting off joining the gym.

I knew that I would have to go forever once I went, and I did not like the thought of that.

Twice-daily gym sessions were this way too.

I decided a few years ago one summer to give it a try.

My thinking was itís only for the summer.

Two years later, Iím still doing cardio in the morning and going back later on lifting days.

And I canít imagine doing it any other way.

Often times, dread is first step on the stairway to successÖand you canít skip it!

The break-up I dreaded, led me to happiness.

Giving up my junk food led me to goal.

    Joining the gym led meÖ.here!

And as always, itís in going through, doing, or enduring the things that we think we just canít, that we find not only that we can, but that we should have a long time ago!

And when we go backwards down the stairs, picking up old habits, weíre just moving one step closer to where we started, which was dread.

And really, who wants to go there?

He's used to the heat! It's usually triple digits here for most of the summer!

He's at Panama City...how close is that to you?

About 5.5 hours. I think some oil is starting to wash up on shore up there.

He sounds like a good kid from what you have written.

It is so hard to take an off day!!! I used to think that off days would ruin me... but not haha i might still wake up at 4 but i love sleeping in haha! doesnt happen very often but i do love that exta sleep

I hear ya on making a change and sticking to it and that talking a steop back could lead to odd bad habbits... good point to think about... cause it is easy to fall back on certain things...

Let's put it this way...he is going to be on vacation when the high school kids go to church camp, so he went as chaperone on the junior high one...knowing his bday would fall during the week.

I am anxious to hear about the oil when he gets back. It was supposed to hit the beach right as he did.

I didnt feel right knowing it was morphed. I got compliment for the morphed image and in a round about way kind of agreed with one forum member who said it looked morphed. I am jealous of my morphed self. I will have to become bigger than him.

BUT Shawn Ray has a morphed avatar picture.... So it must be ok.

What i dread is having another bad showing thanks to bad advice on peaking for a contest. So i make sure to never have just another workout, but always have workouts with a purpose. I am now always on a mission when i am in the gym cuz i dread looking like shit again.

I worried I wouldn't know how to raise good boys, because my dad had left and ALL the men in my family were thugs....but I have really good kids.

Micah took it upon himself the get a job the day he was old enough and never talks back to me.

Jonah has a sass-mouth, but he knows when to stop! He even helps me clean without asking!

You won't have a bad showing if you follow your plan!

I just crossed my fingers and said, "Good living, son. Good living."

Then I took him to buy an ICEE....cause that was just touching!

I am following my plan! And if something dont seem right, i am going to ask questions, believe me. I looked my best ever in 08' and did everything on my own, then thought to get to the next level i had to hire nutritionist. That is when i had bad showing.

She didnt had thecredentials Kevin has tho.
