    Lightbulb I can't remember...but it's my favorite!

A few weeks ago, my sweetie was driving down the road when he spontaneously started singing to me over the phone!

He was playing a CD he had just burned the night before.

It started with one song, and escalated from there.

    “Do you know this song?”

    “No.”

    “What about this song?”

“I think I’ve heard that before, but I don’t really know it.”

“I know you won’t know this one; it’s before your time.”

“You’re not that much older than me.”

“It’s still before your time. I know it.”

He was going from song to song, singing me just a little bit of each before flipping to the next one.

And now, you gotta know how sweet this man is. At any given moment on any given day, I’m likely to get a text with nothing but a kiss or a smiley face.

    For no good reason!

And he’s not just good with the symbols...

He has a way with his words too.

Numerous times a week he will say something so sweet to me that I’ll have to tell him, “That was a good answer.”

Even if it wasn’t a question, I will tell him this!

So the fact that he was driving down the road singing to me was no big surprise!

(Note to the guys out there, we dig stuff like this!)

    Anyway…

At one point he stopped and said, “I’m sorry. I’ll stop. There’s nothing worse than someone singing to you songs you don’t know.”

But he was wrong! And I didn’t want him to stop!

So I told him, “No! That’s not true. It’s not boring at all when it’s the right voice.”

He paused, and I could tell he was thinking.

Then he came back at me with, “Well….that’s….that’s…that’s like… a good answer.”

And then he went back to singing, and I went back to listening…and smiling!

And my new favorite song is whatever he’s singing in my ear at the time, y’all!

I learned a long time ago…if you play nothing but your favorite song over and over, it ceases to be your favorite song. It takes the joy out of spontaneously flipping by it on the radio.

You have to listen to new songs, try new things, or do something you’ve never done to really enjoy life….or songs…or someone singing to you!

Or as my friend put it, “Every time we’re together, you and me, it’s our birthday. Let’s always be like that. We have to live it like it’s the last time we’ll ever see each other. Like we’ll die tomorrow.”

And I can’t remember what he was singing to me that night, but it’s my favorite song.

and since i'm feeling better and lighter (and my stomach is receding ever-so-slowly) it might be working.

Also, Adina's Major Distraction (Trademark 2010) seems like a really nice guy.

I'm glad your stomach is receding! It takes time and effort to make that happen, but it's so worth it!
