Read through most of the diet articles. So, theoretically provided I am at the upper intake recommended for protein of 1.5-2 grams per pound ean body weight (around 195 grams), then whether I do a more moderate carb and moderate fat approach (say 260 grams carbs and 75 grams fat), or a higher carb lower fat approach (closer to 325 grams carbs and 50 grams of fat or less) won't make a difference given the same caloric level? ANd while it may be theoretical, empirically have most of your clients done better one way or the other (I kno everyone is different but is their a apparent majority?).

also, for protein what is the protein you recommend?

Hello Hany let me say 1st im a huge fan of everything coming from you, following you and your athletes. Sir, I would like to know how many grams of Fish oil would be optimal for 185lbs BBer (actually 4g/day) in either fatloss or bulking cycle. Im also taking 2g of vitamin C a day, I know that pre-workout is a good time to go with 1g, is 30mins with my aminos is enough before hitting the iron?

Hany, Ive been takin in a protein shake, usually two every single day for 16 years. I recently read how you have your athletes rely mainly on solid food and instead of shakes post workout you have them take in amino acids. Your reasoning behind this makes sense so Im gonna back off on the shakes and just take aminos post workout. How much would a 225 lb endomorph need daily and after a workout ?

In the recent MD you stated that in the offseason you said that bodybuilders should incorporate cheat meals with lagging body parts. How long before or after a workout should this cheat meal be incorporated?

    hany,
i've ordered that evogen supplement and i'm very pleased with the product BUT you need to get this product to the big supplement sites cause i had to pay an extra $68
to get it shipped to me so with the $74,95 this product cost it's very expensive if you have to get this overseas on it's own,if on big sites the shipping will be much better as you order more then just that on it's own
maybe something to look into bro

Hi HANY.I experimented how many carbs I have to eat in 1 day period with no protein (exatcly 24 hours) and with no activity to maitain my weight!I ate 500 grams of pasta and after 20 hours I was empty (in ketosis) this means that I burned all those 350 carbs with doing nothing all day only watching TV!And then I added 250 grams of protein from turkey and egg whites throught the day and I started gainig fat!I thought that if I add lean no fat protein I would only feed my muscles but I gain fat!Now I don`t uderstand why I gain fat-from pasta there are 1400 ENERGY calories and this is my maintence and another 1000 added calories from protein are building blocks?Do this extra 1000 calories from protein make me gain fat??What I have to do to maintain my weight feed the muscles and not gain fat-do I have to even the calories from protein and carbs to get a target 1400 calories that is for my maintence?? (I saw Ronnie Coleman video The Cost Of Redemption and there in his Offseason he ate only 200 grams of carbs and lean protein around 500 grams and I asked myself how he gain weight (fat) if he eats only 200 grams of carbs do weight training and cardio and every day fall in ketosis which means that his glycogen is empty -maybe this 500grams of protein + 200 grams of carbs make 2800 calories and that make him gain weight) am I correct???

Yo Hany I don't know if you can talk too much about this because Phil is a Wieder athelete. Whats the plan for with Phil for the Arnold, and who do you see as his biggest competition?

This Arnold will be packed! You'll have Dexter, Branch, Kai etc. It's going to be a great show because there is no one person that is head and shoulders above everyone else. Anyone can win this show depending on how they look the day of the show. Phil is working hard on getting thicker in his weaker body parts while continuing to keep his great symmetry.

I have a question about putting on mass. I am 19 years old and have been lifting for 5 years now and am natural. I am 5'10" and have been stuck at 190lbs for a couple of years, fluctuating from 185 to 195 depending how much i eat and how much cardio i do. Not only have I not gained any weight, but none of my lifts have gone up in a long time either. This is the worst plateau that I have ever hit. I have tried mixing up number of sets, number of reps, exercises, adding in more carbs in the morning, adding more protein, even adding cheat foods back in. Nothing seems to work. I have been incorporating the 7s at the end of my workouts and gives me great pumps, but an hour later my pump is gone. I feel like I follow a strict diet and for a while I was getting up to 300g of protien a day and that didn't work. I also feel like I have a good mind muscle connection, so I don't think that I have an intensity issue. Basically I have no idea where to go with my training and nutrition, and really could use some advice and direction. I hope i gave enough information about where I'm at. Thanks for your time.

Hany First Off you are THE MAN!!! Congrats on what you did with your athletes this year you are a MASTER!!!

Question: How do you know how and when it is time to make a gradual increase in calories in the diet? And is Post Competition a good time to make a jump in the cals and then keep at this level for the next year to come into next years competition bigger and better?

    thanks for your knowledge

I want to bring up the thickness (Width) of my calfs. I feel like my shape is really good but its lacking overall width. I know that seated raises will hit the soleus more and add that thickness. I can see my soleus attachment is low so its not a high attachment issue. How often can I train calves to pinpoint that area? What would a exercise program on a weekly basis look like for just my calfs? Also, how many sets should I do with that frequency? Thanks a lot brother!

    Hany,
I remember hearing that when Jay got on board with you, you increased his number of cheat meals in the off-season.
-How many a week did he typically do and did you have him eat them on the days he trained lagging bodyparts?
-Also, where these cheat meals purely cheat foods, or did the cheat food follow the consumption of an adequate amount of a clean protien source?
    Thanks!
