I've read studies on how great glutamine is and then realized the studies were done with intravenous glutamine.

However, reduced hospital infection rates with glutamine-enriched nutrition have been shown in adult patients after bone-marrow transplantation, major trauma, and in premature infants requiring intensive care.

Also, studies and clinical results have demonstrated a potent effect of glutamine supplementation on human immune cell number and function.

So, oral glutamine can help immune function, but most likely isn't gonna build muscle.

I take it anyway, for the immune benefits, and just incase it does help with muscle recovery.....but, I get it free, if I had to pay for it, I probably wouldn't take it.

helps immune system...stomach issues if you have it, (concerning the lining anyway), muscle recovery and protein synthesis..not that expensive..i say it's worth it.

I'd like to hear their comments on glutamine(on whether it's worth taking or not).

    HERE goes the debate again.

I feel it probably does enhance the immune system, but it will not probably do anything for building muscle.

For some people they swear it helps with muscle recovery, for some they swear it does nothing. Give it a try see what it does for you. Personally it doesn't do a god damn thing for me!

Immune support...not for building muscle. During my last diet I ran out of Glutamine about 8 week in. A few days later I felt run down and ended up getting sick. I have been back on glutamine for 5 months and have not gotten sick again. Keep in mind I have 2 kids (1 in 1st grade) and my girl is a nurse. We have all kinds of germs coming into our home.

My understanding is that it supports the immune system. If I stay healthy I can train.
