I wish I could do close grip bench as I feel they hit my triceps the hardest. But I've tried EVERY variant I can find and they all cause forearm pain

I voted for overhead db extensions because there's no option for overhead barbell extensions, but for me the best triceps exercise is overhead barbell extensions, I also like close grip bench press, dips, overhead dumbell extensions, pushdowns, kickbacks, etc

Close grip bench press and single arm overhead extensions are my favorite

this is a tough one for me but the main thing that helped bring my arms up over the past couple years have been sticking to doing dips/CGBP every arm day with one overhead movement like an incline db skullcrusher. a typical routine would look like this:

    Routine 1
warm up with 2-3 sets of rope extensions for 20 reps
-> Dips - 10 sets of 5-7 reps (pause and hold at bottom position for 2 seconds and push through the heel of your palms)
-> Incline DB skullcrushers - 2 sets of 10-12 reps

    Routine 2
same warmup as above-> CGBP with elbows kept in - 10 sets of 5-7 reps (keep weight on the heel of the palm and focus on driving through there)
-> Overhead cable rope extensions - 3 sets of 10-12 reps

more than anything i think it was really focusing on the mind muscle connection that helped bring my arms up as the weight i originally used went down by about 20-25% but the results were seriously worth it!

My favorite tricep exercise is not on there, so i chose my second, close grip bench. My favorite is the underhand v-bar extension. I dont know why, but i feel the tricep work so hard with that exercise...

Cant do em anymore without alot of pain, but incline skull crushers. Less strain on my elbows than regular skulls and the ability to really overload with heavy weight, by slamming hands behind the head onto the bench pad to get some extra reps.

1arm OHD ext. not to heavy 3-4sets of 20 as a finisher blasts the lateral head.

All of these exercises are nice.

I recently added Overhead DB extensions again, and it's a subtle triceps exercise that help your Tris grow (IMO).

That's my perception anyway. Can't "prove" it.

I like overhead lateral triceps extensions. This activity is great for crushing the sidelong leader of the triceps, which is basic for building up a thick.
