2.0 g/kg currently, almost all plant, which is about like 1.4 g/kg of animal.

Until recently, about 0.8 g/kg, all plant.

    Default Protien in take

Hello my bodyweight is 245Lbs...I have a question and please don't attack me if I sound ignaorant, I am just seeking some help.

Should protien intake be bsaed on the bodyweight of 245lbs or the lean body weight of let say 195lbs?

If it's 245 then what should I be taking in for getting the best muscle growth result?

    I would appreciate the help!

hey bro. you are correct in assuming that the extra fat we carry around does not require protein. i grow on 1.5g/lean pound of bodyweight. i would start with 300g/day and go from there.

I try to keep my protein intake around 2 grams per bodyweight.

Currently I weigh 119 lbs. Yesterday my protein intake was close to 300. So a little bit more than 2 grams per.

yeh. i'm only about 100 lbs atm and i usually do 2 ish up to 4 / kg. For me that can mean 400 ish a day . I'm going to play with trading some for straight aminos as I get into some hypertrophy cycles , even if just to make a higher comp weight so much as i how sincerely believe it 'll help me lift more. i just thought i'd throw that it there.

My weight is 237, down from 254 and I have been eating 230g a day, and on a keto. Down 17lbs so far in just under 3 weeks and very little strength loss. High protein is a MYTH. Natural by the way, but if I was on a cycle I would still only eat about 275g.

The way I was taught (in Tom Venuto's book) was to calculate caloric needs and then divide that into appropriate ratios. I aim for about 30% protein, so on 2500 cals that's about 190g protein, and 3000 cals, 225g protein.

As a point of reference, I'm 36YO 165cm/5'5", 69 kg/151lb and ~12% BF (I'm working on putting on some more kgs, it ain't easy that's for sure ).
So those protein figures equate to about 1.4 - 1.7g protein/lb LBM.

I do recall reading a post by Tipsta however, that flatulence and odorous stools are a sign of too much protein. I've found by drinking a lot of water I don't suffer from flatulence so much (I used to be terrible, my god), but when I go to the toilet, my poor wife's about ready to call in the fumigators, it's a bit skank. In addition my sweat has quite a musky smell.

I wonder if I should cut back on the protein a little.

Hey I found this survey on google that gives you the chance to win $250 bucks. It took me 10 minutes, not bad:
