I think protein is overrated, I think what's underrated is fats and carbs

Between 1.5 and 2, depending on the day.

I always go for 2g per kg of bodyweight. I'll up it to 2.5 when I feel my body needs it

I agree. I think the old adage of 1-2 grams per pound is just overkill. I go 2-3 days with high protein..............about 150-200 grams a day..........I'm 195 right now. Then, I'll drop to maybe 100 grams for 2 days and then switch it around.

I think you need to give your body a day or two to assimilate all the protein from the higher intake days. It's not like in the mags where they make you think that after a workout, that 40 gram WPI shake is instantly absorbed, cause it's not. It takes a few hours.

Look at the guys in the pen. They eat gruel, slop and meat by products and they are some big motherfuckers in there, boy.

It's all individual genetics. It's like pumping 30 gallons of gas into a 20 gallon tank. You can only hold and use so much protein, carbs or anything at one time. The body is always striving for homeostasis and will make the most efficient use of the food sources available to it and this includes storing excess protein as FAT.

Shit...................some days I might go as low as 75 grams a day and I grow pretty well, naturally.

Even Dave P said that the reason most people had to have more protein back in the day is because they needed the fat from the protein sources.

    Sounds interesting...

I usually dial in at 3-3.5g/kg. Sometimes a little higher and sometimes lower. Always 50g/meal, so it kind of depends on how many meals I manage to fit in

a little over 1 gram per pound of BW at the moment. So 200 grams. Main focus is the calories right now, and lots of carbs.
