At the moment I weigh 215 (maintenance weight) so I aim for about 215 grams of protein per day. When I bulk I up the protein stays at 1gram protein per 1 pound of body weight but I increase complex carbs. When I diet I slowly increase the protein up to a max of 400 grams per day while dropping fats all the way to 25-50 grams daily.

    The better questions are:

    1) What do you recommend for somebody trying to gain size and muscle...how many grams of protein per KG or LB?

I weigh 283lbs (but slowly dieting down) and my protein intake changes depending on the day since I'm on a carb rotation. If averaged I take in around 350gr daily.

Roughly 1.25 grams per pound of lean mass, which is about 188lbs right now. A little more on low carb days (not counting veg sources).

Since I am in my off season, I cycle my protein in the opposite direction that I cycle my carbs. In other words, as carbs go up, protein goes down and vice versa on lower carbs days.
