I hear a lot of guys talk about all the great things they would do if they were Mr. Olympia. They say they would change the sport, travel abroad and talk to fans and spread the word about bodybuilding. I don't believe you need to be Mr. Olympia to do that. It's not like you can be so selfish as to only focus on yourself for so many years and then one day, when you become Mr. Olympia, everything will suddenly change! To think that you will all of a sudden become selfless and dedicate your time to fans and others in the sport or that you will suddenly become personable or able to communicate with people just because you are suddenly Mr. Olympia is ridiculous. That's the same as saying, "Once I get my IFBB pro card I will then embrace what it is to be a professional." It happens BEFORE you turn pro!
I believe the same goes for how guys treat their fans and anyone else who looks to them for help or support. First of all, only one guy can be Mr. Olympia at a time. Should ONLY Mr. Olympia be ambitous enough to try and better the sport? What about everyone else who is not Mr. Olympia? Besides, how many guys will chase that title and never achieve it? Most. Not everyone can be Mr. Olympia and not everyone can be so fortunate as to be able to use the prestige of that title to help carry out their agenda. Besides, there are guys that have been Mr. Olympia that have achieved that title and never done a damn thing for anyone else or used that title in any way to better this sport. If you're selfish and self serving on your way up, even if by some chance you are good enough to one day be Mr. Olympia, you will do nothing as Mr. Olympia FOR this sport.
Anyone can talk about what they would do...talk is cheap. You do it along the way.
To be Mr. Olympia is not my goal. It never has been. I want to know my potential. I love bodybuilding and it's something that I enjoy talking about with others. That's all.

I talked to a couple people and they told me "usually people bring sandwiches or money. Not whatever that shit was in your thingy!" I have no idea but I thought of Evan Centopani at the moment. LOL.

Hahahaha...I know excatly how you feel! Oh well, not everyone can just do what the next guy does. Doing what everyone else does only makes you just like everyone else. Just do what you gotta do.

Hahahaha...when I first read this post I read it quickly and was like "Holy Shit! This dude looks like this at 14?!" Hahahahaha. Anyways, the best advice I can give you is to MASTER the squat, deadlift, benchpress, and standing overhead press. I don't mean to just DO these movements...I mean to MASTER THEM. To be able to execute these movements with precision and prefect form will help you more than anything else I can tell you. That and don't ever listen to anyone else's negative bullshit. Don't ever feel the need to explain your dreams or your life to anyone else. You only have one life. Live it the way you want to live it and do whatever you need to do to get where you want to go. Life's too short to waste time.

It won't harm you but to be honest with you, just eat FOOD. At 14, get your mom to cook you a ton of food and just eat! Food will always be better than anything that can sit on a shelf for years without expiring.

Thanks!!!

It IS a "complex" carb but so is starch. Basically, it will digest just as easily as straight up glucose. Table sugar(sucrose) being half fructose and half glucose, will actually digest slower than maltodextrin! Post workout it's a great carb source but that's about it.

Is there an efficient way to make the "switch" without getting fat/water retention/bloated-problems?
All the best,

Not really! All you can do is add them in at a rate that is comfortable to you and allow your body to adjust.

hey evan,
after being on keto diet i just dont feel like being on carbs.... me being 195 pounds around 10 percent bodyfat.....need 3500 calories to grow..... so instead of going for the ideal ratios of pro/fat/ carbs ..... i thought of twisting this " ideal ratio"
to 2 grams of pro x 195 = 390 to 400 grams of protien=1600 cal
0.75 grams of fat x 195= 145 to 150 grams of fat= 1350 cal
0.6 grams of carb x 195= 120 to 130 grams of carb= 500 cal( cosuming those carbs only preworkout post workout and breakfast)
in my opinion insulin is the main fat storage hormone and by cosuming less insulinogenic food i can be relatively leaner than if i had consumed more carbs.....
and its the calories that make you gain or loose wt so overall i am cosuming the required amount of caloreis required for the growth.....
and at the same time fat wud show the same protien sparing effect as that shown by the carbs....... i do understand that the carbs are required for those high intensity workouts but then wont those 120 grams of carbs do the needful....
wud really appreciate your advice
thank you

Evan I had a quick question what does it mean to be a weider athlete!! Thats prob a dumb question but I have no clue! And after reading about Keto diets I found they were designed for seizure patients! My brother has seziures so I suggested that to him and I was just wondering how you felt about that diet for a person that doesnt workout considering it is high in fat? Thank you!!1
