Default Flex Wheeler interview for Bruce Lee documentary

Hello,

On behalf of the family of Bruce Lee and Waddell Media this is a request to interview Flex Wheeler for the upcoming landmark two hour prime time documentary "How Bruce Lee Changed the World."

This documentary special will air on The History Channel in the United States and will also be shown internationally to mark the 35th anniversary of his passing. This film is being produced with the full cooperation of Bruce’s widow, Linda, and daughter, Shannon, who is an Executive Producer on the project.

Given Flex's achievements in the world of bodybuilding, we think he can make a unique contribution to this project and the way that Bruce influenced bodybuilders and professional athletes, training regimes, diets and philosophies.

This groundbreaking documentary is taking a completely new approach to Bruce Lee’s legacy. More than just a biography, this film will explore Lee’s global impact to see how he has influenced popular culture in fitness, cinema, music, sport, design, fashion, philosophy and other realms. Filmed in High Definition, this cinematic journey will travel across the United States and Asia, taking the Lee family on a trip back to Bruce’s roots in Hong Kong and China. In addition we have been granted unique access to family archive, home movies and all material owned by the Bruce Lee Foundation.

We have been interviewing actors, moviemakers, athletes, musicians, artists, designers and others who were influenced by Bruce’s work. Among those who have already taped or agreed to tape an interview are John Woo, Jackie Chan, LL Cool J, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Brett Ratner, Eddie Griffin, RZA from the Wu Tang Clan, Guy Ritchie, Stan Lee, The Gorillaz, Michael Bay, Ang Lee, UFC's Randy Couture, UFC President Dana White and Parkour founder Sebastian Foucan.

Waddell Media is one of the world’s leading producers of documentary and reality programming, with offices in the United States and the United Kingdom. Waddell Media has produced award-wining programs for a range of channels, including The Discovery Channel, BBC, The History Channel, and PBS.
I thank you for taking the time to read this request and for forwarding it to your client. If you have any questions or need any more information, please don’t hesitate to email or call me. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Best Wishes

Joanne Azern | Producer

I wish neither to possess,
Nor to be possessed.
I no longer covet paradise,
More important, I no longer fear hell.

The medicine for my suffering
I had within me from the very beginning,
But I did not take it.
My ailment came from within myself,
But I did not observe it
Until this moment.

Now I see that I will never find the light
Unless, like the candle, I am my own fuel,
Consuming myself.

You know, it doesn't really matter that you got screwed out of a Sandow. Out of every bodybuilder alive, when they wanted to interview one in regards to his thoughts on one of the greatest social icons of all time, they chose you.

That's a pretty steep accomplishment. I'd be honoured to be asked the same.

Many of the younger generation don't really understand that Bruce Lee's contribution to society went way beyond a couple of kung fu movies.

Well said man. Bruce is the best. I say is, because to me he is still here with us.

I wish he was here physically so he could kick some much deserved ass in MMA.

I have a shirt that says "Bruce Lee is my Homeboy"
Does that count as being cool by association?

Seriously though, I am a HUGE Bruce Lee fan/follower.
Arnold is actually quoted in at least one, and I believe two of the Bruce Lee books I have .

"Bruce had a very, and I mean VERY defined physique...." -Arnold

I actually got into a fairly heated friendly debate with a buddy of mine over the fact that he thought the Royce Gracie would whip Bruce Lee in the octagon (both in their prime of course).

I told him no way. Give me Wing Chun/Jeet Kune Do over Brazilian Jiu Jitsu any day of the week toe to toe. (And I say that being a Brazilian myself.)
