Hey Flexatron, congrats again on your win at the North Americans.
I have a two part question:
Are you going to take some time off or do you expect to step on the pro stage very soon?

Shawn I'd like to say congrats on cleaning house at the North Americans. I heard you train at the Rockville Golds I used to train there and at Rockville Fitness when I was at home back in Maryland, its too bad I didn't get the opportunity to meet you. Your comeback story is an inspiration to all. My question is:
Do you split your leg workouts? Ex: Hams on day, Quads another
What is a typical leg workout for you?
What exercises would you say heavily contributed to you leg development?
Finally, what was your nutritional plan like when you decided to compete again? As far as what foods were most beneficial to your growth or nutritional adjustments that got your physique to what it had been? For example eating 3 red meals a day.
Thanks Shawn. All the best in your prep for future shows

Shawn,
I would be interested in how you use Vitargo both in the offseason and during pre-competition...you have spoken highly of it to me. I would be interesting to hear how you have incorporated it into your training routine.

Hi robbie with the Vitargo S2 in the off season i was able to keep my muscle full and round, so before my workout i would take in 2 scoops 30mins before i hit the gym and then mix another scoop which i sip on during my training for a extra boost. i was able to keep a pump at all time as all my fuel is then pull into the muscle. The most important part of this is my post workout meal which helps the muscle to recovered quickly and ready for the next workout. I normally comsume 2 more scoops mix with a protien shake within 5mins of my training follow by a balance meal 45 mins later.

hey big guy (maryland muscle) sorry just getting back to you. Legs are my favorite body part to train. I never train quads and hamstring on the same day because i always want to concentrate on the muscle that i am training. A typical workout consist of leg extension i do these one leg at a time and work my way up to 150lb for as many as 12-15reps. then stack it for 2-3 heavy sets with the stack for 12-15 reps some days 20reps. follow by squats or reverse hack squat then leg press then some front squat and finish off with leg extension again.
I think the biggest adjustment was adding red meat to my diet i was able to keep my size as i diet doing 3-4 meals with red meat the closer it gets to my show.
Hope i was able to help with my answers. if any thing i can do to help visit my site and shoot me an email. www.shawnrhoden.com
