Troy Alves is a veteran IFBB Pro and has a long his history of competing in the top shows,Here is some history of Troy Alves. Troy won the 2002 Heavyweight Division at the npc usa. Troy went on to compete in over 30 IFBB bodybuilding contests Winning three open contests! Fast Forward to 2013 and Troy wins the Orlando 212 class with a combination of symmetry and condition. To top it all off Troy is a great guy and a credit to the sport we all love!

Mayor I like troys physique.. But to see guys like Troy who competed against the best in the world drop down to compete against guys in orlando because he believes he can't hang in the open anymore is not the best way to end your career in my opinion.. He won against guys at a much lower level than he should be competing.. The 2o2 is a starting point for many guys... It should not be a end point..

I think Troy's physique is awesome! But him winning a sub par show in no way shape or form means that classic bodybuilding is back lol..just that it was "in" for this show.

        1) Troy Alves is not classic.
        2) As much as I like Troy, but he could only win a 212 show now, unlike before.
        3) Classic Bodybuilding will never be back.

Condition? If you consider having smooth glutes and hamstrings with no detail as conditioned I guess.

He won from the front and sides which was enough in this line up but if he gets put next to some of the top guys and doesn't get this reoccurring issue fixed he will be lucky to place top 10 come olympia

Big fan of Troys physique but lets be honest he was downright soft from the back... In fact i cant remember a bodybuilder being that good from the front and side and that off from the back

Flex Wheeler had the same issue through out his entire career, soft in the glutes and hamstrings.

Looking soft seems to = classic physique. How about the 90's come back? Big, shredded, and not "overdone" on the lumps. Especially the shoulders.

I agree that Troy was the best on stage in Orlando and deserved the win. I also agree that the Mayor may have jumped the gun and read too much into his win. Troy looked great and beat those on stage that day. But c'mon Troy is now north of age 40 and still able to win an open pro show. In my book, a win is a win. Come Olympia time , mass will rule as usual.
