IFBB "Classic" Physique Division

It's definitely for us who don't have the genetics to be bodybuilders.
In the end the IFBB is a business here to make money. If they were a more mainstream sport this would be a bad move (same with the 212). The NFL sells out and has enough avenues to make money, people are raised to be fans through school and little leagues. The NBA would never make a division for people under 5'10 because they simply don't need to. The IFBB does because there isn't a big fan base, they make money off competitors (the NHL offers huge contacts so that players don't go to Europe, the IFBB makes athletes pay for a status card). The way to increase profits is to increase participation because they make money off the athletes and the athletes bring spectators. Think how empty local shows would be if you kept family, friends and coaches out lol.
It's similar to all the bodybuilders who post on Instagram about then keeping the classic aesthetics, big arms, big chest, small waist, not being too big too fast lol. This doesn't fool anyone, they are doing everything everyone else is, they just don't have the genetics to get huge.

It can be awesome, or horrible, all depending on how they present it. Same could have been true with MPD and bikini. No real fan of bodybuilding bitches about women's physique division. Why? Because they retained the soul of real bodybuilding-- it's ultimately about muscularity, conditioning, presentation; posing in a heroic fashion, like a living sculpture. The MPD and bikini classes were introduced and presented with no real thought or value put into them. Even if you're a fan of the MPD look, or you compete in the division, it's boring as shit to watch. Same goes for bikini and figure. Stand up there, turn to the side, turn to the back, turn to the other side, waive, see ya. MPD and bikini were made even worse, by making them cheap and tawdry ("Go out there and act like a frat boy, even though you're 45 years old; and don't forget to stick your ass back and bend over and tell everybody you're "posing").
Nobody actually enjoys how MPD is presented. At the drop of a hat, what does every MPD do? Hits a biceps shot. Imagine that! Why? Because standing there with your hand on your hip and smiling, is boring and uninspiring. Hitting some poses, having some class on stage, is or can be fun and exciting for the audience. Same reason we all bitch and complain when open BB pros come out and do the hand-to-ear professional wrestler routine these days.
Bottom line: a lot of it comes down to how it is packaged and presented. Done correctly, it could be insanely cool and fun to watch, and usher bodybuilding back into favor-- to SOME degree-- in the public's eye. BUT, if it is throw together in the same half-assed fashion that MPD and bikini were, then it will be painfully boring, and fans will continue to bitch and complain about it forever.
If this is a SHOW that we pay money to watch, how about putting on a PERFORMANCE? Wild concept.

/threadin both divisions began... the whole transitions of the "tada !!! transitions" that came about by someone doing it and the rest following suit is something we cant blame on anyone but the competitors themselves.
From my understanding they have been warned about the over the top posing yet it continues, so watcha gonna do??

If the IFBB and NPC didn't want it that way why would they make in mandatory?

I never knew that pose was not an original. Well, for me, its HARD to take them seriously with that pose. At my show the head judge told them to now "look back at it" when they did the "smash me pose". He made it CLEAR that this was no T&A show! But, i aint gonna lie, seeing Janet and Juicy Lacey do it is A-OK with me!
But like David (Lifepulse) said, nobody has any complaints about WPD at all!SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY
