It’s not a physical health thing. He said for him he needs to be in the right space mentally. A one week turn around isn’t enough time to switch back on. I get it but striking when the iron is hot is the way most would approach it. Totally respect his decision though.

I had Patrick winning last week and I had him winning EASY here, regardless if James shows up or no. But he said he won't do it.
Every body forgets that Lionel showed up in fantastic shape at Arnold Brasil 2014 and got 4th. He came many times in great or very good shape but last years missed a lot his peak.
The issue with Lionel is the regularity in condition AND COMMUNICATION ! He should be clear if he's doing or not a show. If he is, then post ACTUAL pictures and not from 10 years ago. I hate to see this guy being treated as a joke but it's the result of his ... communication I guess. And I doubt he will be in good condition IF he shows up.

If Hector tightens up & drops 6-8lb to sharpen up those back shots then James vs Marc will be a closer fight than it was at the Arnold UK for sure.

As for Lionel, really, he has been punished because his backside was soft.

Now Akim or Andrew have won a lot of shows just by having a supreme front side, which Lionel has had by making Dexter or Roelly look midget. Perhaps the problem has been (among other problems) that he has not had a good strategy to choose which shows to do.

So James is thinking of winning in Italy, other years we've had Nathan and Roelly doing it, but this year could be a weaker line up

I’m not sure a week (between Arnold UK & France) was enough to tighten up.

I think he needed 2-3 weeks to sharpen the back up.

Martin could do Reno but dieting and prepping a long time is HARD on the body. Even if Martin qualifies, he would have a hard time cracking top 10. James could be a top 10 guy and im sure he will qualify in Italy

Yeah from the looks of it he doesn’t even want to compete for a year or so. Said he needs a break mentally and physically. I’m sure things will change after his hotheadedness dies down after his placing at the Arnold. He seems to make a lot of off the cuff allegations and then retracts them. We’ve all been there though

That top four was super close & highly competitive though. He cannot be disappointed with 4th.
