I have heard in some Arab countries a foreigner will always be responsible for a road accident whether they are in the right or wrong. The reason given is there would not have been an accident if the foreigner was not in their country.

I was listening to another podcast, and he said that he hit someone on a scooter with his car. A few days later the guy dies. It was an accident and apparently, he was just being held not ina jail but detention center until they can get his insurance info and all that. Did sound like he would be locked up forever if at all

Oh no, that’s one of the most unfortunate things to happen.

Firstly to the guy that died, of course…and for Sergio who unless he was driving recklessly, was just unlucky and has to live with that happening now.

Detention center sounds like a nice way of saying jail. Being detained against one's will is still jail

I’d just move back to America now.
