i think some of the folks who compete have to wear glasses, cause they can't see, it makes sense to me. i rather have them wear the glasses to see where they r walkin' then not see and fall down on stage. now, on another note, great pics and thx for sharin'

I cant see jack shit without my glasses but I never wore them on stage. I almost like not being able to see the crowd

Do you get anxiety onstage otherwise Mike? I always loved being onstage but it's weird, the whole crowd is kind of like a blur except for a few random faces usually. It is almost like my eyes unconsciously became unfocused

I would get VERY anxious once I got to the auditorium. It was awful, but once I got backstage, I was cool. All i can see is the judges faces, barely and the lights. You'd do 20 weeks of prep for maybe 3 minutes total on stage!

It does go by in a blur. Prejudging was my favorite but for the night show my favorite moment was pacing back and forth behind the curtain while the guy before you is finishing. It is like pushing a truckful of fight or flight adrenaline through a funnel. Your pacing shortens to a quick back and forth step. I just remember looking up and telling the expeditor "I'm gonna blow the roof off this place" and then walking out. If felt like being shot like a rocket.

LOL That is a PERFECT description! I was counting down to when I could finally eat and drink. The shows in Florida had SOOOO much food backstage too!

There are some blind bodybuilders from what I can see why someone wouldn't wear their glasses if it wasn't strictly necessary.
