cobra grips , looks like a new product for porn addicts to use while they "enjoy " watching hahaha

Seriously, they look pretty effective and I may order some to use for back work.

Gallon jug, guilty as charged. I used to go through a full gallon of water just during my lifting session, not close to that now. I ditched using the jug in 2019, downgraded to a large water bottle. Last year my water intake got very crappy (dealing with injury and not training). I realized the only way I actually monitored my water intake with any degree of accuracy, is if I started the day with a full gallon and then saw, towards evening, how much I had gotten in. So I just leave it sit next to me while I work on the computer, then tote it with when I go to the gym.

Proud to be a meathead and do meathead things -- ridiculous clothing at times, fanny pack at times -- gallon water jug is a right of passage, Planet Fitness banned them, F all that, meathead til the day I die.

            This!

And I think jugs of water became bigger with the social media spotlight on intra workout products. Personally I've never been big on anything intra workout. Maybe I missed the boat but for me the workout is the workout and only the workout

Only thing I ever needed pre, intra or post workout was water.

What's the story with straps. I never needed them to deadlift 500lbs.

I remember an old guy in the gym who had hooks attacked to leather wrist straps, his grip had gone

Really depends if you’re pulling low reps (singles/triples), or doing “bodybuilding deadlifts” in a higher rep range (6-12). Even if you have a strong grip, when you’re pushing the movement for reps, grip will usually be the first thing to go, and you don’t want to be worrying about grip when you’re already putting all your focus into just completing the set, not blowing out your back, etc. Yes I think straps are “abused” more often than not- if you can’t pull a certain weight for a single without straps, makes no sense to throw on straps for that same single, way more risk than reward. I always warmed up to working sets with no straps, only broke them out for higher rep sets.

A good belt should be able to last a lifetime.

And the straps should de use until they snap.

I have a half gallon bottle, I fill it up twice a day, but it's too big a bottle to take to the gym.

My favorite sweatshirt was a Crazee Wear gray top I got at a regional show. I was like Linus with a blanket with that thing

I have a belt I sometimes wear that is 38 yrs old - Got it from my mum and dad on my 21st
Wear it a cpl times a year for sentimental reasons

                                As for straps
My forearms are often mentioned as being a good bodypart, so wearing straps/grips I think is overstated as a way of underdeveloping them. However, rowing 3 plates a side for 15+ reps isn't easy without straps : /
