In our world the physique should be the main factor in my opinion, even with the women.
In the NPC, at the amateur level, there is only the acrobatics and dance round, there is no physical round.

And at the pro level, three quarters of the score is for the routine.

For some reason, I don't feel comfortable or excited to see men doing these routines.

They changed it to that a few years ago because the division was dying, getting almost zero new entrants. The girls who were capable of doing good routines (with a cheer or gymnastics background) usually didn’t also have good physiques. Hard to train for both. So they did away with judging the physique as much. I believe they also made it so you don’t even need to qualify for nationals, anyone who wanted to do it was welcome to do it without qualifying.

It makes sense since most girls prefer to compete in bikini, wellness and figure, they could certainly eliminate fitness because they are not making much profit from it and they don't need these girls for magazines like in the past.

The problem for these girls who become pros is that they need many years of lifting to be competitive in the physique round.

That's pretty stupid. I thought the P in NPC was for physique?

I understand, but they created the problem by introducing figure shortly after creating fitness, so they had to establish a solution.

I think it was Bob who said, that he would be in favor of eliminating the physical round part also in fitness pro.

I think it is something that the athletes themselves should decide.

Bob really said they should eliminate the routine round for fitness? Wouldn't that just fully turn fitness into figure, and defeat the point of even having the division in the first place?

No, it's the other way around, Bob wanted to eliminate the physique ronde and keep only the acrobatics routine.

Oh, I see I spelled wrong mi previous post.

That makes more sense, in terms of them wanting to keep the division and have it thrive. I have had a few girls ask me to prep them for fitness over the years, and it's a really hard ask -- if you don't already have both those skills AND the physique, good luck prepping for a show. I do work with one pro fitness competitor, and it's hell on her body -- constant sprains, micro tears, etc. She just turned 50 and has officially decided to retire from fitness and just stick with master's figure.

If they removed the physique round it would literally be low level gymnastics on a bodybuilding stage.

May as well introduce things like dance category if the physique is no longer a consideration.

Basically yes, but if you keep the physique round, it can also be seen as redundant of figure.

In any case, I think that the girls want to do both rounds, and those who only want the physique its due to injuries and the difficulty of executing the exercises, and they move to figure.
