Let me tell you what irks me to no end. If we as a society really wanted to wipe out some of these diseases, we could. Instead of funding millions of dollars for nebulous pet projects like doing studies on the eating habits of albino llamas or genome research for 15th century cats, scrap all that bullshit and apply all of it to conquering cancer. We mobilized an entire planet with funding and manpower to fight the flu, er I mean COVID. Shit like that can be done, but it isn't. In my opinion because there is too much money tied the long, drawn out process and continued treatment I. It's current form.

So many things could be accomplished when singular focus is applied. A real WHO would make a prioritized list of diseases and afflictions that are most impactful to people and then knock each one down. Line them up and knock them down. A lot more productive than studying flatulence patterns of livestock and it's impact on Al Gore's nutsack.

      Totally agree.

Since we know the best path to PREVENT common illness like obesity and diabetes, we can use that knowledge to be healthy.

        I respectfully disagree.

Finding a safe , effective cure for a major disease ( like cancer) is extremely difficult.

Oh I agree it's extremely difficult. What's the motivation for a cure? I mean all studies have to be funded correct. Outside of some philanthropic donors drug companies have zero motivation, private hospital zero motivation to fund serious research they'd lose money

If anything does break through I can see it being St Jude's or a private organization that works with cancer patients and is funded by regular people they have no corporate over lords to answer too.

You know this Howie scientists' studies generally come out to a conclusion favorable to whomever is funding the study.

The Apollo moon landing to the development of the Atomic bomb and public US interstate highways were all done by a large government agency .

The really big things tend to be run and funded by a Government agency .

In my judgement, if we ever find a cure for cancer , it will likely come from a large government agency.

No question that smaller , private companies play a role within pharmaceutical developments .

But I never bought into any private companies or shadow government being responsible for most world events..

Do you track your blood glucose levels through the day mate?

That’ll tell you what’s what with it.

A cure for cancer would be a drug so yeah I think the research would be funded by pharma companies.

Remember the days before cable? Antenna TV? So rainy nights we had difficulty getting one network or the other and that was broadcast at most 20 miles away. AM radio obviously traveled further depending on how much juice was behind it. WBZ radio 1030 AM reached most of New England. I take you on the trip down memory lane because we may have landed on the moon. The video broadcast from the moon bunk , it wasn't possible in 1969 given yes no atmosphere between the earth's atmosphere and moon but quite a bit of solar interference then re entry into the atmosphere.. the electric technology wasn't there to relay video outside of orbit at that point. Just saying

One of the larger problems here -- the healthcare system in this country is just trashed, particularly post-COVID.

During the peak of Covid, I was coaching 3 different girls who worked as travel nurses, going to the worst hot spots where they had the most people dying. This was during that early phase when there was all the public discussion about "not having enough ventilators", which led to the ethical debate of "Well, who do we let die?"

All 3 of those travel nurses told me in confidence: the healthcare system in the US is beyond repair -- we have lived with a population who has spent the better part of 70 years sitting on their asses watching TV and being virtually completely inactive, while eating fast food and junk snacks all day long. And our medical system has tried to keep up by prescribing drugs that aren't at all fixes, they're just Band-Aids placed over oozing wounds (obesity, diabetes, heart disease).

And all 3 told me, we're at a breaking point -- all it takes is one minor "pandemic" that really isn't serious whatsoever, and everybody is up-in-arms freaking out and the medical system can't keep up -- they don't have the manpower to deal with an entire country of people who have devoted their lives to slowly killing themselves.

Post Covid, I have had major health issues -- neurological and orthopedic -- and just trying to get a call back from a doctor's office is virtually impossible. Not just for me, but for all of the clients that I coach, I have to spend an insane amount of time every single week coaching them on how to speak to their doctors and advocate for themselves so they actually get some form of proper care.

I'm not at all blaming the medical industry. They're in the position they're in because the populace has done a terrible job of being self responsible and watching their own health. And they have hit a point of not being able to keep up.

Post Covid, there are so many barriers to entry to even get in to see a doctor, in any sort of timeframe that is reasonable. Every single time I have had to get in to the neurologist or orthopedic, I have had to physically drive to the office and speak to an admin in-person. They don't pick up phones, they don't return voicemails, they don't send referrals from one office to the other -- it is an absolute shitshow.

So all of the dialogue of "official medicine" vs. "alternative medicine" -- I get your point Howard, and agree with it in principle. But the way it stands in reality, "official medicine" is busted, due to decades of going in the wrong direction -- people being lazy assholes, pharma responding, government responding, and now making it virtually impossible to advocate for your own health.

I dont and my doctor told me I should.

Honestly, I hate the idea of having to deal with this shit but it needs to be done.

How often do you check your glucose?

I had to wait 4 months to get a biopsy after an MRI showed probable cancer. It's a joke
