Hey Alex, I have been working out for a long time, it has been sport specific. I want to try and compete, I dont want to sound like I think it is easy but what would it take for me to compete in 9 1/2-10 months?
24 years old
6'1 255# ~17% bf maybe 1 or 2% higher.
I am at 2200 calories (1480 comes from clean food, there rest is my shakes) 43g fat, 175g carbs, 261g protien. I am working on leaning out.
This is a great thread, I appreciate any input you may have for me.

The show (junor cal) was a good show.. WE are working on getting some pics up now.
The guy that won the overall was thick, round, black, muscular guy with good genetics you can tell.
The guy that placed ahead of Rob looked a bit heavier, softer, but a little wider and bigger, less conditioned but it was close. Robs quarter turns could have been better.
Also remember when your a heavyweight you have to weigh like a heavyweight.. You weighed 206 and the limit is 225. Like you Chris, Rob has room to grow in the class.
I have placed second and it was to a guy with less condition, black, rounder, thick softer guy, but outweighed me by 15lbs. Placing second has made me a better competitor.
IF had just a couple more pounds I would have won. Same with both of you guys.
You dont have to be maximum in the class but just a little more to go with the condition makes a difference. So learn, and grow from the experience.
As far as Junior Nats goes guys. remember this.. The Show was the "junor" nationals, not the nationals. The show was primarily filled with dead weight. Lots of guys that no body have heard of...
Ok you have Brewer, Allen, Chad Martin, Liberatore and a few guys i Have vaguely heard of and thats it...
The best guys( national contenders) stay home and watch the shows results on the websites..
This show was not the USA ( pro qualifier) or nationals (pro qualifier). The junior nationals, is not a national show.. ( no pro card given out) so,,,,the best are not competing..the best guys dont fly out to do a show for no pro card.
Based on what i could tell, the judges did seem to get it right.. Brewer 5th was fair and Allen winning seemed right.. Im sure brewer is re thinking his whole off season plan for next year. Anyways, its old news now..
Keep your eyes on the USA and the Los Angeles Championships.. of all national qualifiers the L.A is my favorite.. past winners include Mark Dugdale, Richard Jones, Will Harris, Omar Deckard...
All went on to win their pro cards at the USA.
I have had good luck as a class winner twice at that show and in 06 my win at the L.A gave me the momentum to take a win at the USA one week later.
2 good shows are coming up in 4 and 5 weeks from now. Stay tuned!Get shredded! check out the transformations at

Looks like it was a very close call to me. Honestly, i would have went with Rob for the win in that class and im not just saying that because i know Alex.
In another 4 weeks Rob, your going to be hard to beat. Keep working on that posing and just come in nasty shredded.
Alex, i am allowed to have my opinion on your thread aren't I? (lmao)TROPONIN NUTRITIONIST

I agree, the front relaxed pose is the money shot.. I mean the judges just size you up and down from that pose and Rob smokes the guy.
From the side, the guy pics up some momentum and when they start hitting the mandatories its very close. Im anxious to see the score cards..
Anyways, remember our plan was to dial in for the Los Angeles championships in 4 weeks, not to peak for this show.. Rob is going to come down about 6-8lbs and be shredded as a light heavy.. Top of the class at near 198 lbs instead of the lightest heavyweight on stage..Get shredded! check out the transformations at
