Hey Alex, thanks for taking the time out and helping everyone on this board.
I am wondering if you could help me out with diet, Ive been bodybuilding on/off for 2 years, but I am seriously flawed in my diet, I have no idea what to do.
I also suffer from IBS ( Irritable Bowel Syndrome), makes you have the runs alot, and I can't eat huge, full meals, no spices, no eggs-kill my stomach, but ive been usually fine on protein shakes using Dave Palumbos Isolyte and Optinums Whey.
Im 23, 145 pounds soaking wet, I cant gain a pound due to super high metabolism and IBS. Do you have a sample diet plan I can work off of with my eating constraints, pretty much bland/spice less foods that can help me gain and put on some weight. Im a full time college student, so I dont have a ton of money to spend on diet. But I feel if I want to gain weight , i must have some baseline diet to go off of.
My schedule is this: Wake up around 11am-noon, go to work/class at night 5-9, eat dinner, workout 11pm to midnight.
Any suggestions would help.

Im working in more detail with some competitors who are doing shows in 2008 and am doing assessments of their physiques, updating their diets, cardio, supps. etc to get them totally dry, hard and ripped for their shows. YOu can check out my website at Prepbyalex.com
But anyone needing some quick help, etc, I dont mind helping. Im in the sport not really to make money but because I love bodybuilding.
I love the sport as a competitor and a fan as well. I started off not knowing shit about diet and prep for a contest.
I was lucky that through hard work and learning from others, I was able to win the novice overall and open class in my first show 6 years ago.
I have slowly gotten better with my prep for each contest and now I am competing at the biggest amateur shows. But I wish I had gotten good professional advise and knowledge from the get go. I would be that much better than I am today.
The bottom line is, i remember what it was like being a beginner.
Alex, hope this doesn't sound to dumb, I currently weigh between 230-240, I'm 6-2, and 49yrs. I'm not sure what a good weight for me is, some have said 200, others 220. I was going to the gym, but haven't for the past 6 weeks, a combination of alergies, and a sinnis infection, plus my back has been acting up. My diet is fresh fruit, and protien shakes through out the day, I start with a start with a protien shack mage with 1% milk, egg whites, and 2 scoops of protein powder. The only full meal that I eat is supper, which is a decent, (clean) meal. Part of the reason I eat this way is I'm on the go all day. I would apprecate any help.

Hi Alex,
Firstly - congrats on a great job done with Dusty Hanshaw. He looked great and with you and Dante in his corner he will go far.
Now my question: Would you suggest that a natural bodybuilder take any time off to give their body/cns a break? I seem to be getting conflicting opinions. Some believe naturals should keep lifting year round and not take any time off, while others believe naturals should take a week off every 3 months or so to let their body and cns recover. What is your opinion on this?
Thanks,
md1

Alex,
I'm bulking until feb. and weigh 170 right now. I just got through with doing a cycle of m1t that I gained 10 lbs on. It's been a little over a week on pct and still weighing 169-170. This is the diet I've been on for 3-4 months. I wasn't gaining weigh until the m1t cycle. I want to put more weight on but want to know where I can improve my diet or should I leave it alone.
