  • what is a good lifting belt?

I was wondering if someone can help me out? I hurt my back last year, so I'm looking for a good lifting belt. And would you recommend a 4" or 6" belt?

powersystems.com has a good powerlifting-style belt. I have degenerative disk disease, and this helps me quite a bit. I think it's about $35, and I've used it for 2 years already.

I don't use a belt though, yet. After I finish my contests and start doing heavy deads again I'm going to start though.

Regardless, I feel leather with a nice metal buckle is the way to go. There is nothing worse than using a velcro belt that gives out on the bottom of a squat.
