Matt tony is a pure power of example and you have done a great job with him. As we get up there in years maintenance alone and forget about adding muscle for a minute is a grueling day in day out grind without med help. Tony's web site and blog are without question an inspiring thing just knowing this can be done. GREAT JOB

Tony is a perfect example of the ideal 'student' or the most 'coachable" person. I have found the more ADVANCED guys that have done this for years and are pros or top level ams --- will always ask opinions of 100's of other people because they still think their are secrets or better ways to get the 'edge'!!!
If i tell them to add cardio or eat less carbs --- "But I will be too flat, I will lose muscle, I will have 2 days of carb refeed because I felt too flat" --- they care so much about "fullness" and are very hard to work with.
Amateurs, pros, beginners ALL need to follow a plan to the damn T -- do not hire someone if you are still doing slight tweaks and things your way -- either trust the coach or be coach-free.

This happens all the time and peoples bodies start looking haggard and tired --- they dont 'pop' the muscles arent responding.

Have not spoken with him since show....
Had I taken over IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHOW --- I would have allowed him to cheat all Sunday after show --- then get his rebound out of the way starting Monday, low carbs, sodium back in equation, cardio etc....drain the fluid out....by Wednesday or Thursday he would be dry again and I would give him his off-season plan from that point.
Would put him on medium fats --- something like 80-90g and carbs on the lower side like 120-150g.
Would allow him 1 cheat meal a week and I would monitor his pictures EVERY SINGLE week to see the true story. He needs closer watch than someone like Bluerocket whom is staying shredded after 7 weeks and is eating around 4K cals (guy in this thread) --- but Bluerocket STILL check in with me WEEKLY.
I would also have MooseJ do cardio 4 times a week for 30 minutes.
I would have him run a thermogenic periodically....

If he starts gaining too much BF --- then yes....at first no....since he is already lean from coming off prep diet.
I think in the morning from a low intensity stand point makes sense....
other times of day while fed --- doesnt matter
