  • When to up the cardio?

I started the palumbo diet out with 40 minutes post workout... when should I increase the cardio by 10 minutes, every week, week and a half? When I hit 60 post workout should I go back to 40 post workout and 20 in the morning? then keep adding 10 minutes in the morning from there?

    any help is appreciated!!!

Personally I'd start with am before breakfast first if it's possible. Add 5 minutes a week and don't go over an hour. When you hit the hour mark go back to 40 am and 20 post workout.

I'm not on the keto diet but i am cutting and doing 60 minutes a day, that's plenty isn't it? I feel i'm not doing enough when you hear pro's doing 1 1/2 to 2 hours of cardio a day etc...

It's all about manipulating the bodies fat stores. You can do it by low carbs, high cardio or a comfortable mixture of both. I prefer the latter. An hour a day of cardio is fine if you are losing weight each week up to show time. You have to play with your carbs too. Cardio timing is essential too (before breakfast, post workout, before bed, etc). The pros that do up to 2 hours a day of cardio eat way more than you do and prefer cardio to ultra low carbs. Also, they don't do 2 hours the entire pre-contest, they start out with 30 minutes and work there way up to 2 hours towards the end. Remember, more carbs, more cardio. Less carbs, less cardio.

Makes sense. Another question, if i'm doing 60 minutes of cardio a day then how many grams of carbs would you suggest? I'm 215lbs at 16%, getting around 275g of protein per day(including protein from all foods like peanuts, oats and all that not just the main protein sources) and low fats. Currently I think my carbs are 150g per day.

If you're at a standstill, start rotating your carbs. Try something like 150/100/50. You have to take notes and pay attention as you do this. Everyone is different. If you are on a low carb diet, fats should be moderate. You need to take in fats in order for you body to readily give up it's fat stores as an energy source. The body is very smart like that. I eat almonds at every meal (15-20) or put a teaspoon of natty pb in my protein shake during pre-contest.

Thanks. I think my fats are where they need to be. I probably have 4 tbsp. of peanut butter each day, plus the fat from steak, and before bed i have milk with 1 scoop protein powder so my fats should be high enough.

Damn though, 50g of carbs on one day... that shit would suck lol... This is only my first week of the diet BTW so i'm not at a standstill or anything, but it's my first time getting ready.
