this happend to me the last time on my cut. normally offseason i eat 3,000-3,500 calories. when i started my diet i dropped to 2050/'
dropped 5 lbs in just a few days.

since then jsut over a week ive had no weight loss at all.

and today exactly what happend last time started happening again. im having much less frequent bowel movements and much smaller ones.

yeah im eating a lot less food but with the weight stalling i feeel this is definitly a sign up my metabolism slowing down.

im doing carb ups 2 days a week bringing my carbs from 185-275.

    any advice would be great

First off, lack of or reduced bowl movements have nothing to do with your metabolism. I believe Layne Norton has also echoed this.

You say WEIGHT LOSS has stalled- that is OK in my opinion so long as FAT LOSS is still humming along. I've done cuts before where my weight doesn't change much at all...maybe a loss of 3-5 pounds total, but my belly fat and overall fat mass decreases significantly...and I mean significantly, so I believe that it is in fact possible to recomp and build lean tissue if you manipulate your diet and training correctly. And yes, I'm natural. I don't take any test boosters or whatever in case you are wondering. Anyway...

How much do you weigh? What's your bodyfat %? What's your body type? Got any pictures? Post up your diet. We need more information before we (or I) can help you.

But to answer your original questions straight up, I doubt your metabolism has slowed by dropping cals 1000 below your gaining cals. That's nothing, and actually quite the norm of a swing.

Just curious on how much training and cardio you are doing because if you are relying on the diet to lose the fat and not the cardio then you will never get lean since the body will constantly adapt to the lowered carbs

Did you taper down to those calories or did you go directly to a 30-40% calorie deficit?

That is a bit harsh on the body, I would think that would trigger a bit of that 'OMG, I'm starving, quick slow down the metabolism'.

Why not try doing a 15-20% deficit, then after a few weeks drop it again.

Yep - I started my contest prep last year in a calories surplus - just cleaned it up. I gradually dropped the calories by 10 - 15% every few weeks.
