    I am pretty clear on cutting sodium about a day out, but what about potassium and magnesium?

    In a final weeks prep, what are the best way to manipulate the other 2 electrolytes?

    I know magnesium deficiency leads to potassium deficinecy, so should magnesium be taken all week and then stopped the day before, at which time potassium added?

    I get the carb up bit, and water and sodium being used at the same time, but the magnesium and potassium part I am less sure.

    Any advice appreciated.

      Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate. If I have used sodium throughout the week, especially when carb loading, with around 10 litres of water, then I dont understand why cutting soodium around 20 hours before the show is a problem?

      As for the magnesium, I thought that magnesium and sodiu enhanced the absorbtion of one another?

          our bodies are smarter than we are and they very tightly regulate mineral/electrolyte levels to maintain the balance needed to be alive

          the easiest thing to manipulate the final few days without totally screwing everything up is carb intake

          sodium/minerals and water I don't recommend screwing with in most circumstance

            Thanks for that. I am pretty happy with that part, the carb up process. I usually advise people to cut back on the water on a Saturday about 5pm for a Sunday show, and to start their diuretics Satuday morning, something like taraxatone/Xpel. Then they keep there carbs moderate along with fats and protein all day, then again on show day. I want to learn if there is anything else that can be done to strip away sub q and shuttle water into the muscles.
